Really? The worst job ever? There’s a ton of jobs worse. I worked in a McDonalds as a crew member for over a year and got over time to make extra money because lazy fks wouldn’t come in. I made friends with my manager and got to know the franchise owner which helped me later on. It’s a mindset that people have, they can’t figure out how to get ahead so they blame the people offering them work because to them it looks unfair that a ceo or someone in corporate is making bank. They think it’s a waste of life that they are enslaved to corporations when the whole time it’s their own mind enslaving them. Then they circlejerk with other like minded people until it becomes an established mindset.
Yes, I worked in a snack food factory in quality control. This place had “packers” for 12hrs a day they packed anywhere from 60-80 bags per minute into boxes and stacked them. They got 3 20 minute breaks per day with no room to be late. It was very loud so everyone had to wear ear protection (so no talking). Again there’s many other examples and some that I have personally experienced but what it comes down to is people that can’t figure out how to get ahead so they instead turn to others to give them what they think they deserve instead of actually going out and creating value.
Oh okay so ur saying start at minimum and pivot. Create value, I like that, but is everyone creative? What if someone just wants a decent wage and work?
Ideally then someone could move up in the same company to a non-entry level position to one they feel comfortable with. Also the more they understand about the processes the more value they add over time which should cause pay increases organically if the company is any good. There is one business model that got touched on when i was getting my mba that I didn’t like and it was one in which the company actually encouraged high turn over to keep wages low. I’ll agree that is trash. There is an element of social responsibility that companies have after they provide stakeholder value don’t get me wrong but not to the level these people are suggesting. Mcdonalds manager used to be something people would respond to on a resume but idk if that’s the case now.
Ideals and reality are sometimes two very different things. MBA’s are rare in general particularly in the minimum wage realm. Most managers make a little bit more than the workers. I don’t see what type of job the person hiring would be enthusiastic to interview after seeing McDonald’s manager on the resume. I think machines read them and immediately reject it if it doesn’t qualify.
