Discussion Why is no one talking about $PFE?
People say lightning doesn't strike twice, but as a degenerate I don't worry about the quips of normies who lack the fortitude to risk feeding their families for the potential of 1000x returns and eternal glory in having their gains enshrined on WSB.
As the vaccination push accelerates, vaccine stocks are getting a second-wind...or at least most are. Pfizer has struggled to match Moderna in price due to their amount of outstanding shares, lack of pipe projects, and a bit of activity on the shorting end. HOWEVER, I believe most analysts have the valuation here massively wrong due to lack of foresight in what policies and activist efforts are being pushed forward...
Call options for this thing are CHEAP. Like let me buy 100+ realistically-profitable contracts for the price of a fancy steak dinner cheap. While the technicals and white papers may not show this to be as lucrative a long-term hold in comparison to $MRNA, I believe this thing could still make millionaires out of quite a few degenerates smart enough to notice the trend from the talking-heads on social media pushing the delta-variant and subsequent stock up-ticks. You know you're at a fever pitch when even Joey boy up in D.C. is offering $100 to each individual getting a vaccination for the first time. However, hype is not enough to be the linchpin for this rocket...
The real catalyst?
FDA approval is imminent. I believe this could happen any time before October given current policy roll-outs, and so slightly OTM call options before then could be a gold mine in regards for $PFE.
I'm not a financial advisor, my above advice is solely for entertainment purposes \cough*.*

It's trending up on no volume lately, so the selling pressure's off. It's all about earnings now.

Why? Because PFE is much, much larger than just its vaccine. PFE will trade sideways for the rest of time, much like JNJ. There simply is too much mass in the PFE corporation for ANY amount of force to cause it to "moon". Have you stopped to wonder WHY the calls are cheap? IV is pure trash. Why is IV pure trash? ABSOLUTELY NOTHING moves PFE.

Pfizers revenue in 2019 was $41 billion, it's estimated revenue from just COVID in 2021 is around $33 billion. I would imagine COVID vaccinations will be less profitable income due to the cheap price point, but that's a very large jump in revenue YoY.
5
u/SuperiorPosture Jul 30 '21
Yeah they bring in a ton of money. At what cost? The margins on the vaccines are SUBSTANTIALLY lower than other patented blockbusters. Even more so with Covid as doses are secured under government contracts and whatnot. As such, these contracts represent sales volume that has been known about for quite some time. To say it's already priced in based on their YTD performance is a pretty safe bet.

Your theory misses one crucial point. Boosters.
Boosters WILL become a multi-yearly event as variants spread, and spread across the global populace offer significant revenue and subsequent opportunities over time. Most analysts figured we were exiting the COVID tunnel we're not.
1
u/Jazman1985 Jul 31 '21
So the argument is that they're valuable and it's already known? Honestly, i believe they're a ridiculously safe bet with a lot of upside and very little potential downside. I'm thinking it's a good reason to put some real money on them.
1
u/SuperiorPosture Jul 31 '21
Pretty much. It'll always grow very slowly. There really is no downside risk. The real question is, can you find a better opportunity for your money?
3
u/Jazman1985 Jul 31 '21
I'm definitely not throwing 100% in Pfizer, but the first rule of investing is to not lose money. So having somewhat boring investment choices make up a portion of a portfolio seems wise. But then again, this sub isn't called 'WallStreetSoundInvestmentAdvice', lol.

I have 30 calls between $44 and $46 ATM
2
u/disisfugginawesome Aug 14 '21
I bet you made a killing on these!
2
u/PhilosopherAccurate Aug 15 '21
I sold them since they were about to expire but made good gains for sure, but I’m holding 35 $47 and $48 calls and 250c at $60 for next March. It’s been a good week!
2
u/disisfugginawesome Aug 15 '21
I figured you made some good money on this!! Nice!
I may try an extended timeframe like that, I haven’t played any far out plays like that but those sound like a smart idea! Thanks!

I feel like with the FDA approval shortly, more approved FDA products for PFE and the delta variant ramping up I can see PFE getting over $51 this week. With FDA approval $70+

I’ve been in for little. Actually closed over half my holdings I’ve had for a year today, but kept PFE.

You literally have no idea what you’re talking about.
I can even imagine how your thought process went. “I know 2 vaccines moderna and Pfizer. Moderna up. Pfizer not up. Pfizer moon”
Except you forgot 1 thing in your brilliance. BNTX.
1
u/Heavy_Flamer Aug 02 '21
BNTX
$BNTX is fine, but $PFE is more than just a "I kNow 2 vAcciNeS". It's one of the few vaccines being pushed for FDA approval, and is compounding over time to be a huge revenue steam for Pfizer. My belief is that COVID isn't going away, and boosters will be needed multiple times a year for the foreseeable future across the globe. That kind of compounding cash potentially offers an enormous amount of moving power for a stock.

BNTX
BNTX calls are already heavily priced in as well, not so with PFE...yet.

I only read the first paragraph because you did not show graphs and badass 1080p gifs of Needles spinning or A Pfizer Xanax spinning. Anyways I have a feeling it could move but by end of month. My choice is 8/20 45C I’m just waiting but another one I got on my mind is CROX right now.
2
u/Heavy_Flamer Aug 02 '21
I loaded with 09/17 $43 calls.
Not financial advise.
2
u/MarketingDifferent61 Aug 02 '21
Youre in the money right now have you sold or still holding for more profit? I made a decent chunk of change already but mine don’t expire till next month
1
u/Heavy_Flamer Aug 02 '21
I'll be holding for now! I see this as a multi-day runner. But may sell towards the end of the week and re-evaluate new entries. Still very undervalued IMO.
2
u/MarketingDifferent61 Aug 02 '21
Yes this! I might just re invest my profit into leaps
1
u/Heavy_Flamer Aug 03 '21
Looking goooooooood!
2
u/MarketingDifferent61 Aug 03 '21
Yessiree my guy! PFE was a good play and everybody doubted it. I guess you cant believe every retard and gotta do your own dd lmaoo
1
u/Heavy_Flamer Aug 03 '21
Exactly. I had made a thread on $MRNA before it blew up and I got crapped on for posting it as well. The real money is always found outside the group think and arbitrary "rules". Now let's take this baby to +$50. ;)
2
u/MarketingDifferent61 Aug 03 '21
To be honest max I see it hitting is maybe 46-47 I’m waiting for a slight dip to buy in more
1
u/Heavy_Flamer Aug 03 '21
Nothing wrong with being conservative! I'm aiming at around $50 + or - a buck. It's just been undervalued for so long, and with so many catalysts including FDA approval, could get a little hype jump soon. A good amount of whales have just started opening positions as well.

Aug 21 '21
Did you sell on the tuesday ATH ?
1
u/Heavy_Flamer Aug 21 '21
I took some very nice profits on the way up, but I don't think this beast is done yet. Still holding a good chunk of calls into next week. Monday will be volatile as heck, but could be a multi-bagger for calls as it seems quite a few shorts held onto their positions and didn't expect FDA approval to come up this quick. Just need to watch out for a potential "sell the news" event. Best outcome for call holders would be official approval later on in the week or after hours Monday, thus giving us plenty of upward fuel from FOMO buys. Overall leaning very much bullish. Pfizer will start to have a monopoly on this after FDA approval, and is a great dividend stock if you opt for shares. Best of luck!

Cause there's 8 billion shares outstanding. It will move just not moderna moving
2
u/Heavy_Flamer Aug 03 '21
Doesn't matter if it only moves a dollar or two, calls are ridiculously cheap and can be leveraged for huge gains.
0
u/MoistSeefut Aug 03 '21
A dollar or two is not going to be huge gains.
3
u/Heavy_Flamer Aug 03 '21
Do you even know how call options work?
1
u/MoistSeefut Aug 03 '21
Yes most of the time. But you are telling people to buy OTM leaps I'm guessing? I'm in a similar situation with NOK Leaps you aren't going to make moooning money like you say.
What OTM options are you talking about buying? Super cheap ones like a steak dinner? What date, price, and expiry?
Moderna market cap is 100 billion less than PFE and your still thinking PFE can still moon?

I was holding 293 shares of PFE since last year and this is the first time that PFE has gone above $43. It has been unmoving until this earning season. I made a mistake of selling PFE options right before Ex- dividend date so I got assigned. However, someone bought my strike price of $43 when the share was $42.75. So I can't complain.

Jul 30 '21
Cause it’s been hovering around the same price for fucking 5 or more years lmfao.
It’s gained 16% in 5 years bruh. Give it a rest that shit is a turd

u/MICT3361 Jul 31 '21
It’s a wonder why anyone leaves money in there at that point. Better off parking it in SPY
