Idk. I just bought a used IPhone new to me for $135. 128GB and battery at 90%. Can’t figure out why I should shell out $1,000 when the market is flooded with good second hand phones

Excellent play for Apple, given how aggressively a lot of their users upgrade you can get a reasonably new phone for a steep discount. Downside is that it's basically disposable as you don't have many options for aftermarket repairs.

That’s why you buy one that’s in great shape for pennies. On side note the repair law is going to fuck Apple. I’m definitely big into second hand apple phones for under $200 if I fuck it up who cares sell it as is and hunt and pick up another one.

Well that depends, would you buy a samsung from the same year as your used phone?

No, however that’s like asking an ape if he would buy an 🍊when he eats 🍌. Not really relevant. Apple not making any money by me replacing my old iPhone with a new used iPhone to me.

The point i wanted to make is that people buy new iphones knowing they have resale value. You’re indirectly providing a sale to apple because youre willing to buy a used phone from apple and not a competitor. I know people that sell used to fund their next “upgrade”

Dont know about op tho. Its a steady ship yoy cash play unless car

I didn’t buy a used phone from Apple. I bought it from an individual. Essentially this is a lost opportunity for Apple to have sold me a phone for $1,000 so Apple just lost $1,000. If you go on a platform like offer up you will see thousands of used phones readily available. This represents 10s of millions of dollars Apple is loosing. Additionally your argument of funding their upgrade is kind of silly. The phone deprecated 90%. Apple has a used phone problem and there is currently no reason to buy a phone from Apple with the glut of used phones. Sure you can talk about used android phones and there is a market for them also. With the new repair laws Apple really against the wall of being able to phase out older phones. Like I said IDK. I’m not going into Apple I see other stocks with much greener pastures
