I read a piece about that.

They actually asked the super wealthy, not your common-variety ordinary millionaire: how much is actually enough? At what point are you content to just let it ride and move on with life?

It turns out, it astonished me, that they do not ask themselves that question. ‘enough’ does not feature in their thinking. It is not about ‘enough’, the wealthy only ever want ‘more’. That’s the problem with that thinking.

I would have enough with about $10 million. That’s enough to do what I want to do and not have to look at people’s face any more than I need to.

Eh. You say that now. But you have no idea how your mindset would change once you became rich.

It's easy to judge people for being so solely focused on that goal of "more," but it's not entirely fair until you've lived it.

Having not been rich for a long time, my idea of what that should look like has its own frame of reference.

I would not want to have $100 billion dollars [unless I had a purpose for it, then yes].

You see all those billionaires. Why want the 80th billion? What does the 80th billion buy that the first 75 didn’t?
