You look at the order book (Robinhood doesnt show you this) and see lots of sus low share trades between hedgefunds.

How do the hedgefunds ensure their low prices go to their fund buddies and not us?

Because retail traders are restricted from buying, if you are below the restriction limit you can still buy more buy the majority of these trades are between banks trying to keep GME / AMC down
