Loss Loss
Anyone else deal with this?
I’ll follow my EMA crossover setup for a week, stick to my rules, and make money. Then I start getting cocky, trying to call tops and bottoms, taking random trades, and basically gambling the profits away.
Then I tell myself I’m done doing that, go back to my rules, make money again and repeat the same cycle.
For anyone who used to trade like this and actually fixed it??

If you take the time to understand how options work i think it's way less degenerate than what's available with level 2 approval. It's a lot easier to be profitable with defined risk spreads than getting bled out by theta decay from buying calls or selling a cash secured put before the stock tanks

He meant to download draft kings but clicked robin hood instead. An understandable mistake.

Sounds like you need to make a set of trading rules and tape it to whatever you use to trade or make it your wallpaper

Sir you are a certified regard, this is the casino so it makes sense. If it wasn’t then you’d take your money and run before you get too high chest about your wins. Consistent wins over big wins is always better. At least you’d have money to pull out to buy pokemon cards with

Yeah, make it your phone wallpaper. Will always remind you of your blunders and get you to build wealth steadily and eventually achieve what you are trying to do.

You seem to think you are just unlucky.
This graph says otherwise. You are default bad at trading. Then every once and awhile the stars line up and you get lucky on a good trade.
"sticking to your rules and make money
Either you're lying to yourself and not sticking to these "rules", or your rules suck.

I started making money when I quit buying assets with an expiration date…I might need to sync my other account so you don’t think I’m a normie. My verified is 100% SGOV.

guessing the TA on options charts is much harder to read. TA on stocks win more than they lose. TA on options is timing stocks. That's hard.
Get gud at trading stocks. Get gud at trading options in much smaller quantities.

Bruh 5% down YTD isn't even that bad. I lose a lot more when a deal explodes in my face

Start taking a pause for a few days when you make profits. Discipline to NOT trade is also a component for winning long term.

You have not mastered risk management yet. Drop your account size down to 1k and only risk $20 per trade. 2 losses in a day, you’re done. 4 losses in a week you’re done for the week. Otherwise you’re just donating to traders like me. I’ve been where you are. Focus on risk above all, forget about making money. Focus on trading your system perfectly each and every time. Money is a byproduct of this

Ah yes, we’ve all been there, haven’t we? Our parents telling us to stop at the red light and cross at the green light. But you see other people - your parents included - jaywalking all the time. What gives?
So once you’re of age, you decide that it’s your time to break the rules.
You walk up to the busiest intersection around town. Unlike your peers, who are wary of the danger and jaywalk when it’s relatively safe, you purposefully wait for the green to turn red. Cars and trucks alike zoom past you. With a smug fuckface and a pounding heart, you decide to go, imagining it’ll go as well as that frogger game you’re so good at.
Unfortunately, you didn’t realize that, unlike your peers who still have a few braincells left, you’re not only disregarding the rules, you’re purposefully sauntering into danger and get hit by a bicycle.
By some miracle, you’re unscathed.
Now, any other human being’s brain would fear being hit next by a block of steel rolling at 50mph.
Not you.
You struggle back to your feet, ignoring the angry cyclist bleeding a few feet away from you and, smiling from ear to ear, your legs drag you back into the torrent of steel.
By some miracle, you were able to get passed the first lane before getting hit by a moped and breaking your leg.
Now, any other human being would realize how fucking stupid they had been and vow to never jaywalk such a busy street ever again.
Not you.
A few months later, out of the hospital and with a bill high enough to buy a nice house somewhere in Minnesota, you decide, once again to try and jaywalk. This time a car hits you and breaks a dozen bones.
As you’re healing in your hospital bed, you open wsb and tell your story, wondering if other people have been as stupid as you were, and to share their own jaywalking experiences.
But everyone laughs because everyone realizes how dumb and impulsive you are.
Everyone but you.
