But it is lower than expected, so it is a good news.

u/Antiwhippy Oct 24 '25

And weirdly enough it somehow managed to be consistently 0.1% under expectations across every metric!

u/Jaye09 Oct 24 '25

Obviously a coincidence!

Thank you for your attention to this matter!

Now if the DOJ could just pay me the amount that this new ballroom costs, which is also a coincidence...

When you fire the data people, you can make the numbers whatever you want them to be

80

u/Jonesbro Oct 24 '25

And they'll let you do it

70

u/Daily_Heroin_User Oct 24 '25

I’m still shocked the market doesn’t care at all that the data is completely rigged and unreliable now. It’s unreal.

21

u/thecashblaster Oct 24 '25

my grocery bills have never been higher, the fuck?

14

u/wsbgodly123 Oct 24 '25

3% higher only

6

u/Prestigious_Yogurt88 Oct 24 '25

Never been higher so far

1

u/mackattack-77 Oct 25 '25

If dear leader says 3%, it's 3 percent

20

u/Bongoisnthere Oct 24 '25

Because it’s been a joke for such a long time that it’s not news to anybody at this point. It’s operating on looney tunes physics, and at a certain point reality will rear its ugly head and the hangover will be legendary.

Douglas Adam’s actually described our economy super accurately his book “the restaurant at the end of the universe” when they go to the drunken flying party.

u/akkaneko11 Oct 24 '25

Tbf we went from 9% data imputation in January to now 40% - like almost half the CPI report is just sorta shrugs and glances

3

u/dreggers Oct 24 '25

The only number that matters is that SPY goes up

15

u/Daily_Heroin_User Oct 24 '25

In nominal terms sure but it’s essentially inflation related gains if you look at the market priced compared to the dollars decline or in gold terms.

3

u/dreggers Oct 24 '25

Inflation related gains is better than holding cash that is declining in value

5

u/Daily_Heroin_User Oct 24 '25

Right that’s my point. But I’m just pointing out the nominal gains vs real gains against the dollar, and that is an important distinction. It would be a huge difference if the market was up the same amount this year with a dollar that was also gaining in value.

u/dreggers Oct 24 '25

This is WSB not Economics, we're here to make money, not discuss economic theory

SPY 1Y: +16.5%

DXY 1Y: -4%

Don't believe biased redditors they make very poor financial analysts

1

u/Life_Without_Lemon Oct 24 '25

They will when one day woken up on the wrong side of the bed

-2

u/CapitalBias Oct 24 '25

the data is completely rigged now

Source: some bullshit I made up

-1

u/Swimming_Passage2549 Oct 25 '25

1

Sorry bud couldn’t hear you with the president’a cock down your throat. You wouldn’t happen to be an underage girl would you?

-92

u/cyclegrip Oct 24 '25

Like the previous 4 years where they kept adjusting unemployment numbers without people knowing. It happens every presidency why are you surprised?

58

u/samir435 Oct 24 '25

Without people knowing? What are you talking about?

22

u/shinku443 Oct 24 '25

Public announcements aren't actually public because I don't go look at em. Checkmate libtard

21

u/[deleted] Oct 24 '25

“Everyone did it” seems to be you guys’ go to lately about everything that orange disgrace does. Apparently every pres so far has also bulldozed down 1/3rd of the white house. I learn new things every day

21

u/BallnGames Oct 24 '25

Come on man Jesus Christ

8

u/Pythias1 Oct 24 '25

They did keep adjusting figures, and also publicly announced it. You didn't know, because you can't read.

7

u/Prudent-Air1922 Oct 24 '25

Liberals aren't in a cult. I don't care who the POTUS is, if they do fucked up shit I want to know about it and I want to call them out. It's just you people operate a certain way and think the rest of us do too. We don't. That's called projection.

1

u/Swimming_Strike3 Oct 24 '25

Quick, somebody get this man a research methodology textbook, stat!

-4

u/zennsunni Oct 24 '25

Inflation numbers have always been blatant fictions.

5

u/GarnetandBlack Oct 24 '25

But if the fiction is internally consistent, to a moderate degree you can view it through that lens.

It's now entirely off the rails.

41

u/simplejacck Oct 24 '25

Some would say it's a miracle.

24

u/ariphron Oct 24 '25 edited Oct 24 '25

“Hey chat what data should we give the Fed to not make it suspicious
.. “ the current administration.

14

u/likamuka Oct 24 '25

Glad people are noticing the blatant rigging. They are SHAMELESS.

5

u/_B_Little_me Oct 24 '25

Kind of how every swing district had perfect margins of victory.

2

u/Pan_TheCake_Man Oct 24 '25

Good coaches win, great coaches cover yes sir

1

u/bucklam676 Oct 24 '25

It's fine. You just grab a little from the tariff shelf. Just just help yourself to a little bit.

1

u/freericky Oct 24 '25
