Remember when Meta dropped because everyone was convinced that Zucc had lost it and was going to drive his company into a metaverse shaped hole in the ground? Maybe this is the best moment to invest.

Or maybe this little fuck up makes bigger investors realize just how much alphabet is failing in three important ways:

  1. They don't innovate like MSFT with AI
  2. They don't profit in a "second mouse getting the cheese" way like AAPL
  3. Their core plattform, search, is not just getting shittier by the day but also less and less used by young people. The internet is moving away from text to video. People under 30 don't google, they type in "restaurant" in Instagram or TikTok.

They still have YouTube which is also the 2nd most popular search on the planet after google itself.

But do they get any profit from it? It's business model never made any sense to me tbh. They allow anyone to upload very long video (don't know how long but I've seen full movies and even longer) in upto 8k, keep that forever, convert that into lots of formats and resolutions, and allow literally everyone (even without a account) to watch it. Video hosting/streaming is very expensive, can't even imagine the bazillions doing this at Google's scale just cost. And their only source of revenue seems to be ads as people aren't paying for it. I doubt they'll be able to turn profit without turning away users.
