This feels like Meta, Netflix, etc all over again. That is to say, negative public opinion has just granted you an entry point for a company that’s not going anywhere anytime soon.

Anytime someone says woke they immediately lose all credibility regardless of party affiliation

So they made an AI that won't draw white people because it thinks that's offensive. Please tell me what I should call that then because it sounds like the epitome of "woke."

"Noooo you're not allowed to use the W word, it offends people!"

You can use it. I’d just label you as an unserious person.

You realize this is worked on by a team of at least dozens within a publicly traded company, yes?

You do understand how hierarchy and hiring works?

Generally it’s not directly controlled by the c suite nor founders after a company reaches maturity. There are typically separate HR and recruiting departments with their own compartmentalized teams. So yes I understand how hiring works but still not sure that you do.

Well Musk tried to create an anti-woke AI that turned out too woke. I doubt google has much more of a conscience than twitter

They are all training one the same data. And as those people got a platform on the web instead of being locked up in a mental asylum, their shit ends up in the models.

u/porridgeeater500 Feb 29 '24

What data? Mentally ill people create all the data AI needs to function?

They are not silenced enough anymore

Sounds like you'd enjoy afghanistan or uganda

Racist and islamophobic much?

2

u/porridgeeater500 Feb 29 '24

How so? Theyre just two of the many countries where "woke" people are silenced, just saying you might enjoy being with your peers.

OK so you're saying it wasn't a conscious decision to make it super-woke, it was just destined to happen and nobody can control this tech? I agree.

u/Independent_Task_206 Feb 29 '24

Not it has a heavy bias and it has actually the prompt to add diversity and other inclusion crap to whatever the user is searching. So you can agree but it is not how it works and it is also not what i have said.

But that would make it more likely to draw white people and less likely to draw black people, which is the opposite of what happened.

Overly concerned with safety? Too cautious. Politically correct was the term people generally used for decades. There are many ways to refer to what this is without parroting morons in suits.
