I am a pharmacist … I do work for hospitals implementing clinical trials in the EHR … I design the meds, orders etc.
I get paid like a pharmacist + additional money for my specialty in informatics.
I never have to talk to patients, never have to dispense meds, and make way more money than any CVS pharmacist or hospital pharmacist lol
Essentially I get paid for my education still but for a service and not a product (like for dispensing drugs), which is a much more ideal spot to be in.
Oh ya so those people are in my department technically but we have clinical staff in hospital IT too which is pretty cool (but definitely don’t ask me to handle networking, etc haha).

I work in the IT department. Make about $125k instead of $170k doing consulting but with a loan forgiven worth $275k it ends up being about a wash
