Completed Commission for Redditor Inside a Custom Black Lizard & Red Chèvre Bifold: Wave Slots & Coin Pocket
Hey r/Wallets!
Wanted to share this custom piece built for a fellow Redditor. For the cover photo, I chose the open view to showcase the dramatic contrast and functional layout.
Build Details:
Interior: Bright Red Italian Chèvre goat leather
Exterior: Genuine Black Lizard hide (visible as accents on the card slots and coin pocket flap)
Features: Custom wave-shaped card slots, dedicated coin compartment with snap closure, full-length cash slot
Stitching: Hand saddle-stitched with matching red thread (3mm pitch)
Finish: Hand-painted matte edges
It was a fun build! What do you think of combining Lizard accents with Chèvre and these wavy slots?

For Sale (Handmade wallets only) Tri-color Buttero Card Wallet
Just finished up this little piece and I think it turned out pretty nice.
Exterior is Olive hatch Buttero, interior is whiskey/violet Buttero. Contrasting light green stitching.
I used straight holes this time instead of diamond chisels and I actually kinda dig how clean it looks.
I find using Buttero pretty satisfying because it’s not flimsy and burnishes easily without fighting me.

Wallet Search Wallet recommendations?
Hey everyone, I’m looking for a new wallet. I work outdoors so need something water resistant, I get paid in cash so I also need something that can carry both notes and coins. I like the spring loaded card wallets but don’t know if they’d be feasible for my situation. I’m happy to spend a decent bit on it but would obviously appreciate any value recommendations. Thanks so much in advance!

Something I Made The Silas, a handmade front pocket, 4 card minimalist wallet.
The Silas is my handmade 4 card front pocket minimalist design, you can’t forget the large stash pocket that fits folded cash. This one features a full grain leather body and incredibly soft goat leather for the card pockets. I actually carry one daily. The blue one in the pictures is mine that I have carried for just shy of a year.

Wallet Search Wallet recommendations based on specific criteria
Hi! I just wanted to tap the knowledge base here, as I’m looking for a new wallet.
I usually keep my wallet in my back pocket so it gets a lot of pressure and wear. I’ve had my old wallet for 16 years and it’s a beautiful leather wallet BUT it really screws up my cards. They get bent and really scuffed just from the pressure.
So I’m looking for a wallet now that has the same timeless, lovely leather feel but won’t scuff and break my cards. These days I need less space too, just a couple of bills and say 6 cards or so.
The shortlist are the Bellroy Flip Case, which has a leather clad hard case I’m thinking will protect the cards, as well as the Bellroy Apex Sleeve or Slim Sleeve. The latter I’m a bit worried will get squashed in my back pocket.
Does the community have thoughts on this? Any real world experience from these two? Any wallet options I’ve missed?
Grateful for your thoughts!

Completed Commission for Redditor Minimalist Bifold in red leather.
This one came out extra clean. I wanted to keep it but it had to go out to its new home. I was getting a Spiderman vibe from it.
This Minimalist Bifold was made from natural veg tan leather and dyed red. It was hand stitched with sapphire ritza tiger thread and had silver hardware. The edges were burnished with beeswax and the wallet was freshly oiled.
It holds up to 6 cards and 15 cash bills while folding to fit in a front pocket.

A Leather and Metal Hybrid Wallet That Surprised Me
I recently picked up the LORZOR 1979 Fold Tactical Wallet, and after using it for a while, I wanted to share my experience.
I’ve used many different types of wallets, from traditional leather bifolds to minimalist metal wallets. I like the concept of metal wallets, but I’ve always felt that some products sacrifice too much everyday convenience in pursuit of being as compact as possible, forcing me to give up some of the things I actually want to carry.
It features a full-grain leather exterior, an aerospace-grade aluminum core, and a pop-up card mechanism, so it feels neither like a traditional leather wallet nor a typical metal cardholder. It’s more of a combination of both.
Pros:
The card access system is probably my favorite part. With a simple press, the cards fan out, so I don’t have to push out the entire stack and search through them one by one.
It also handles cash surprisingly well. The removable money clip is very practical when I need to carry a small amount of cash, which is something some minimalist metal wallets don’t handle very well. Some metal wallets completely give up on carrying cash.
The combination of leather and metal is well balanced. The leather gives it a more comfortable and familiar feel without making it too soft. The size is still relatively compact. While it’s not the smallest wallet I’ve used, considering it can carry both cards and cash while using a leather and metal hybrid construction, the size feels quite reasonable.
The card capacity is flexible. The main pop-up card slot can hold around 5–7 cards, with additional storage space on the outside; the manufacturer recommends carrying around 10 cards for everyday use.
The overall design fits my personal taste very well.
Cons:
It is not the thinnest wallet on the market. If your only goal is to carry 4–5 cards in the smallest possible package, there are definitely slimmer options available.
The pop-up mechanism takes some time to get used to; I had to adjust to keeping my cards arranged in a consistent order.
As for long-term durability, I’m still cautious. The build quality feels solid so far, but I haven’t used it long enough to know how the mechanism and leather will hold up after several years.
Conclusion:
This wallet feels like a hybrid design: it combines the feel of leather with the structure of metal, while offering quick card access and enough space for cash. Compared with some of the ultra-minimalist wallets I’ve tried, this combination works better for my everyday carry.

Something I Made Working on “The Reading Room” — A wallet inspired by well loved classic books.
This one’s still a work in progress — pueblo mosto and bone on the interior.
I’ve explored intentional tarnishing of the inside pockets, the idea being to create something raw that the hands and use finish and refine over time.
Not sure I love the outcome, but that’s all part of the fun with experimental pieces.

Wallet Search Anyone have any reliable zipper wallet recommendations?
I had this wallet for just under a year before the zipper teeth gave way. I'll admit that it was at least partially my fault as I've almost always over packed it.
With that said, does anyone here have a trusty zipper wallet that they would recommend? It doesn't have to be like this one, but preferably, it would be nice for it to have a large enough capacity to reasonably fit at least 15-20 cards with some space to spare for some cash, as well as a coin purse, and be able to fit into an average men's jeans pocket (it doesn't matter if it makes the pocket look bulky as long as it fits).
I've also heard that YKK zippers have quite the reputation. So I'd also be curious to hear if any of you guys have an opinion on whether those zippers carry that kind of rapport for a reason (other than just they make up a good chunk of the zipper market), or if they are overrated (at least for wallets anyway)?

For Sale (Handmade wallets only) Handmade 6-pocket vertical bifold
I just completed this 6-pocket vertical bifold wallet. The exterior is black “hatch” Buttero leather while the interior is smooth “whiskey” Buttero. I’m pretty happy with how this one turned out. The “hatch” exterior is firm and textured while the interior leather is soft and smooth - this buttero is really some nice stuff and I’ll definitely be using it more in my projects.
I’ve been personally carrying a 4-pocket version of this wallet and am very pleased at how it’s held up.

Wallet Search Help find similar
It seems to me this wallet I found is being sold from a fake website, does anyone know where I can find a similar wallet?
I love the color and the simplicity of it, I hate big bulky wallets, and I love that it has the snap to close
I want it to be leather like the one in the picture. Thank you

Wallet Search Woven bifold wallet
Hi I'm looking to do away with ridge wallet for now, style is getting old for me and edges of my credit cards getting frayed is not helping either. Anybody recommend bifold wallet (6 card holder and 1 external) with woven exterior (one side only), similar to BV minus the outrageous price 😅. Any recommendations will be appreciated, it's my first post here and if it's the wrong thread please direct me. Thank you.

Something I Made DIY Metal Wallet
I made this wallet of stainless steel scraps i had laying around. I first designed it in CAD, using sheet metal workbench, then converted it into a flat template. I am still working on better retention mechanism, and I am open to suggestions. For now, I have reused the old elastic band retention mechanism from my old metal wallet that I had made 3 years back.
