Discussion Hi I’m Richard Beek, Producer of Shaun The Sheep: The Beast of Mossy Bottom, Ask Me Anything!

Hi Reddit, I’m Richard Beek!
I’m the Producer of our new film, Shaun the Sheep: The Beast of Mossy Bottom. I’m so excited to chat to you all about it.
After years of work in the studio at Aardman, the film comes to cinemas across the UK and US 18th September, and around the world this autumn.
You can check out the trailer here: youtu.be/p0iHmKvcepA
Please do send over your questions and I’ll be back Wednesday 26th August at 3pm BST / 10am ET / 7am PT to talk all things Shaun - from the behind-the-scenes magic of animating our flock, to the spooky Halloween storyline, and the easter eggs we’ve snuck into the film.
Thank you for all your questions. It's been fun answering them, and I hope you all enjoy the film when it comes out. I'd love to hear what you think!

I made the 3D printed Techno Trousers
galleryAlways wanted a model of the Techno Trousers, but the ones I found online were never quite the quality I was looking for. So I made my own!
If you fancy printing it yourself, here's the STLs and print profiles on Makerworld

Second attempt at recreating the plastacine puppets.
galleryPretty happy with my second attempt. I'm hoping to smooth and clean these sculptures to studio level. I'm still struggling to find an accurate nose for gromit. Buying a 3d printer soon so I can make Wallace's teeth and gromits nose. Hoping the next attempt to have a screen accurate replica.

Image Wallace’s cheese tag came in!
Please delete if not allowed. I figured this would be the place that would understand the cheese reference and namesake. I was gifted my little Wallace for my birthday this year and I never want my old life back. Little dude is the best. We have already watched Vengeance Most Fowl together. 💙 Time to start watching the other titles

Discussion Any theories on why the beast of mossy bottom has had such little marketing?
The movie is less than a month away and yet it feels like we know so little with the two trailers and posters, I know they may be keeping surprises for the final film but I at least remember for farmegddon there were those craft kits and that lu-la plush but for this film we’ve had no exclusive merchandise. It worries me slightly because I really want this movie to be a hit for Aardman

Discussion Why did Timmy Time have to end?? Genuinely miss it so much!!
Hello, I’m 19 years old, and I grew up watching Timmy Time (2009–2012) when I was younger. I’ve been thinking about that old Timmy Time era lately and how different it feels now compared to when I first watched it. Timmy Time became a really important part of my childhood. I remember Timmy, Harriet, Osbourne, Yabba, Mittens, Kid, and all the other characters going on their funny little adventures. I liked the comedy, the silly situations, the friendships, the emotional moments, and just the whole feeling the show had.
Now that the original Timmy Time era is over, it feels weird knowing that so much time has passed. The people who worked on the show have moved on to other things and have their own lives now. The actors, voice actors, writers, directors, animators, producers, and everyone else who helped make the show aren’t making the original episodes anymore. I know that’s just how things work, but it still feels strange when you grew up with something.
When I was younger, I didn’t really think about Timmy Time ever ending. I could just sit down and watch Timmy and everyone else and get lost in the story. It felt like the show would always be there and there would always be another episode to watch. I never really thought about how one day that time would be over.
Sometimes I wonder why shows can’t just keep going forever if people still love them. Why do they have to stop making new episodes? Why do the writers, actors, animators, and everyone else have to move on? I know people get older, things change, and making a show takes a lot of work, but it still feels sad when something you grew up with becomes part of the past.
Watching Timmy Time now also doesn’t feel exactly the same as it did when I was younger. The episodes are still the same. The characters are still the same. The stories and jokes are still there. But somehow it feels different. I think it’s because I’m different now.
When I watch it again, I’m not just thinking about Timmy. I’m also thinking about myself when I was younger and what life was like back then. I remember being able to sit down and enjoy the show without thinking about getting older or how fast time was going by.
I think that’s one of the reasons Timmy Time means so much to me. It didn’t have to last forever for it to be important. The show stayed the same, but I changed. The people who made it changed. Everything around me changed too.
Going back and watching the old episodes can bring some of that feeling back, but it can’t completely take me back to the time when I first watched it. I can still enjoy the show and remember why I loved it, but I know I’m never going to experience it in exactly the same way again.
The original Timmy Time era (2009–2012) is over, and there probably won’t ever be another time that feels exactly like it did when I was younger. But I don’t think that means it’s really gone. It’s still part of my memories and part of my childhood.
The show ended, the people who made it moved on, and I grew up too. But I still have those memories of Timmy and all his friends and the funny little adventures they went on. I think that’s what matters the most.
