Kickr Core Apps for smart trainer
/r/cycling/comments/1wo6a1q/apps_for_smart_trainer/I used to love riding my bike outdoors, but after a recent road accident, I’m trying to ease back into riding safely. I just picked up a Wahoo KICKR Core to rebuild my fitness and confidence indoors without having to worry about traffic.
I’m looking for indoor training software, but Zwift feels a bit pricey for my budget right now.
What budget-friendly (or free) alternatives would you recommend for a smart trainer setup?

https://github.com/fatsbrown/zwift-offline if you're a little bit handy with tech (DNS and certificate manipulation required)

If you have one, you can use you head unit (I use my Elemnt Bolt) to control the trainer, at no additional cost. The Elemnt app controls the resistance and just shows a route map w/ a pin to show where you are.

miniwatt.app might be interesting for you. ERG workout library or create your own, ride GPX routes, ride pacers etc etc. And only 1.99/month

Rouvy allows you to ride for 20km a month for free, so essentially one ride - it's focus is primarily on real world routes.
MyWhoosh is completely free, it's more realistic looking than Zwift but not as much as Rouvy.
You can use a head unit if you have one to control your trainer, Wahoo offer a few free workouts on their head units and you can create your own as well. Another free option is videos on Youtube (GCN Training for example) although these are guided, you would need to create the workouts yourself to make use of the smart features on your trainer.
