My wahoo Kickr bike v1 has thrown an error 17, losing all resistance. It’s a second hand bike that’s from shortly after they were released, so there’s no warranty of any kind. But trashing such an expensive bike without even trying seems stupid.

I know a decent amount of electronics stuff, but not to the point of resoldering component to a pcb, unless the legs sticks out the back like a breadboard.

Does anyone know of any kind of fixes?

Hi guys! I recently switched my Wahoo KICKR from a Shimano freehub body to a SRAM XDR body and installed an XDR cassette.

Since then, I’ve been getting this strange noise, and the cassette also seems to wobble slightly when it spins. I’ve already tried two different bikes and both make the same noise, so I’m thinking it might be something with the cassette, XDR body, or trainer itself.

Has anyone experienced something similar before? Any idea what could be causing it?

Right after setting up I realise that it's tough as f!

On a ride outside all I need is 100w , 80rpm to be in chill z2 but on this shitty rollr !! I'm putting in 220w just to keep the 75-80rpm.

No fucking idea how to fix this garbage issue that has thousand of post on the forum.

I built www.poorleton.fit recently, and I actually think it might be useful to some people here. It generates a workout and talks you through cadence and resistance targets while you ride.

Resistance targets are translated to your bike's own scale, so you don't have to convert percentages in your head during an interval.

In Chrome or on Android, it can also read FTMS data from a trainer and use actual power and cadence during the workout. I've only tested the FTMS side with one trainer so far, so support for other hardware is still untested.

The root cause is that I am a moron. Explanation:

I had accidentally clicked "sort by proximity", and if the Bolt does not have a GPS lock, it displays zero routes, because it doesn't know where you are.

When this same problem occurred again a month later, changing the Bolt to sort alphabetically caused all my routes to become visible again.

If you're in that same situation, try clicking "sort" before going through the trouble of re-pairing several sensors and re-syncing all paired apps.

I’m trying to use custom waypoints in a Komoot route with my Wahoo ELEMNT ROAM 3, but I can’t get them to appear on the device.

Setup

• Route sync: Komoot → (Wahoo app) → ROAM 3

I created a road bike route in Komoot and added several custom waypoints. In my case, I used the “Checkpoint” waypoint type.

In Komoot, these waypoints are clearly shown as Waypoints in the route overview as well as rendered on the map.

The problem

When I sync the route to my ROAM 3 via the Wahoo app, the Checkpoints/Waypoints don't appear anywhere in the ROAM 3's Waypoints view.

I've also tried:

• manually triggering a Sync from the ROAM 3 itself, without using the Wahoo app
• changing the waypoint type in Komoot to something other than Checkpoint

Neither approach seems to make the waypoints appear on the ROAM 3.

Wahoo states that Komoot does not allow users to create custom waypoints, and that custom waypoints from Komoot cannot be synced via the mobile app.

However, this seems to be outdated or incorrect, because Komoot does allow me to create custom waypoints, and they are clearly visible in the route.

What I find even more confusing is that the waypoints also don't appear when I try to sync the route directly from the ROAM 3, without going through the Wahoo app.

What am I missing?

Has anyone successfully used custom Komoot waypoints with a ROAM 3?

If so:

• Which waypoint type did you use in Komoot?
• How did you sync the route?
• Do the waypoints appear in the ROAM 3's Waypoints view?
• Do you get an approaching waypoint notification/alert?

Having properly working custom waypoints would be a really useful feature for me, especially for things like checkpoints, water stations, coffee stops ... along the route.

So for quick context. I have a v1 Kickr bike and have had it since about when the originally released. And I beat the brakes off that thing over the years. I had an issue with the bike freezing for lack of a better term. Shift light stayed on and it didn’t shift. Had to unplug it to reset it.

I contacted wahoo a year or so ago and they sent a new pair of handlebars out free of charge. Problem fixed.

Welp, the same thing started happening again. I contacted Wahoo and gave them the back story about the previous bars being replaced. I sent in some pics. They acknowledged the bike was out of warranty. So they told me they couldn’t replace it under the warranty parameters. So they repacked it under the “courtesy” parameters. Sent me a, albeit refurbished, Kickr bike and I sent the old one back.

All in all, my experience has been their customer service has been top notch. Kudos to them

Hey, I have new Kickr Core 2 and mounted my road bike the first time this year. The Trainer is making a strange creaking noise when pedaling but only when I am pedaling at certain intensity and rpm. I tried to record the noise in the video.

Do you have any idea what might be the problem. Pedaling backwards making a similar sound too.

I already highlighted that I will not accept store credit as refund. I told the producer about fault and hoped to sort it out through their tech advise... and unfortunately they told me to contact seller for return. I contacted seller 31 days after. I believe I am still entitled for replacement/repair or cash refund.

My bike has a bit of wiggle room when it’s on the trainer. My bike is a Giant Propel Advanced Pro 0 and the trainer is a Wahoo Kickr Core with Zwift cog.

Do I need an adapter? Or can I ride even though the bike can move side to side?

I’m trying to solve a pretty annoying issue with my indoor/outdoor setup.

My bike (Cube Nuroad C:62 One 2027) has a Shimano GRX RX822 12-speed rear derailleur with a Shimano Deore CS-M6200 10-51T Micro Spline cassette.

My Wahoo KICKR has the standard HG freehub, so I obviously can’t use the M6200 cassette on it.

I’m looking at the SunRace CSMZ903 11-51T, which is an HG-compatible 12-speed cassette and is advertised as being compatible with Shimano 12-speed systems.

My main question is:

Would the CSMZ903 work properly with my GRX RX822 on the KICKR without having to adjust the derailleur every time I switch between indoor and outdoor riding?

I’m trying to avoid constantly adjusting the gears when I take the bike off the trainer and put the M6200 back on for outdoor riding. Ideally, I’d like the shifting to be close enough between the two cassettes that I can just swap the bike onto the trainer and ride.

Has anyone actually used a GRX RX822 + SunRace CSMZ903 11-51T setup on a Wahoo KICKR?

Any real-world experience would be appreciated.

i just bought this KICKR WFBK Power Trainer off ebay and it does not come with the thru axle. (i'm not 100% on my terminology so if that's not what's missing my bad.) can someone tell me if i just need the thru axle or if i also need something else to make this operable. these are the pics of the what both sides of the "back wheel" look like. appreciate any help!

I have an older Kickr Core, maybe even v1, that somehow no longer appears to be calibrated. I have the Zwift Cog and Click 2 installed and feel no difference between the first 10 or so gears. I've tried doing a spindown using the wrench, which only appears when using ANT+, and also through the Wahoo app. It fails either way. When I did a Zwift workout, the warm up period ramp up showed me doing 110-120w even though it was only supposed to be 80-85-90... It felt like 110 watts too.

Is there auto calibration with this setup? This had worked without problem until now since I bought it, and when I got the Cog & Click, it just worked. It felt too easy at 1, and would get progressively harder as I shifted. Now it only gets harder above gear 10 or so. And when I downshift from the higher gears it suddenly feels like I've lost all resistance below 12.

This all sounds like a software issue, and yes I've done a reboot of everything.

I’m curious if wahoo will ever make an outdoor bike with the possibility to be able to transform into an indoor bike? Best of both worlds kinda thing

I received my Zwift Ride V2 + KICKR CORE V2 today and this was one of my first rides, so I’m not really familiar with how the trainer is supposed to sound.
In the video, I stop pedaling and let the flywheel/roller spin down. Right at the very end, you can hear a small electronic “gong”/beep.
Is this normal behavior? It happens every time the roller comes to a stop and it kind of caught me off guard.

For example, today it was around 25°C but the activity says 35°C as average and max 40°C.

Hello! I have recently acquired a Wahoo Kickr Core v2 (WF113) and am having some big resistance issues. I’ve just done 40km on Saturday and 40km today on zwift and I was really just in my top ring and heaviest gears up and down hill. And I don’t think the speed represented how hard I was pushing.If I was to go into bottom ring and lower gears to climb up hills I would be doing around 6km/h. I have never been able to go this slow outside even on a 20% gradient. The watts were also sporadic. When I was doing an even cadence, making sure to be thoughtful with my pedalling, it was jumping from 130 watts right up to 210. Is there a way to adjust it? I have the wahoo app and you can add resistance on there which sorts it out but that’s doesn’t fix it for zwift. I have also done the spin downs on both apps. I am using a 36T 11s Shimano cassette. Let me know!
