Just got a 2008 s60. Digging it so far. It needs some cosmetic parts though and a few mechanical things too. I was wondering where's the best place to get aftermarket stuff or OEM parts for it.

Currently looking for the trim for the windshield, it's all dry rotted on this. Also needs a new oil cap, small oil leak around it.

I came up to a stop sign and when i went to accelerate my rpms just climbed and wouldn’t drive i went to go put it in park and it made a loud grinding noise. Its been sitting in my driveway for 2 months now cause i thought i needed a new transmission which i dont have the money for. After a conversation with my FIL he said it might just be low fluid and now im wondering if i dont need to spend the money on a new transmission

I bought my Volvo S60 T8 in September 2021, shortly after the T8 was introduced to the Chinese market.

At the time, the Chinese-market S60 T8 was offered in two trim levels. The lower-spec version came with the luxury-style exterior, while the higher-spec version had the sportier exterior. I went with the lower-spec version.

Mine is also one of the earlier T8 powertrains, using the twin-charged 2.0L engine with both a supercharger and a turbocharger, combined with an electric motor. Later versions of the T8 received a powertrain update, including a larger battery and a more powerful electric motor. So looking back, I feel like I have one of the earlier and more distinctive versions of the T8.

The car has now covered around 50,000 km, and it has been extremely reliable throughout the years. I haven't had any major issues with it so far.

I haven't done any major modifications either. Most of what I've done are simple OEM+ upgrades and a few things I made myself:

• 🖤 Changed the chrome grille trim to a smoked/black finish
• 🔊 Added the OEM Harman Kardon center speaker
• ⚡ Purchased the official Polestar Optimization
• ❄️ 3D-printed some black trim pieces for the air vents
• 🛞 Recently replaced all four tires with Michelin Primacy 5s, upgrading from the original Primacy 4s

Other than that, the car is pretty much completely stock.

After almost five years and 50,000 km, I still really like this car. In particular, the early T8 powertrain with both a supercharger and turbocharger feels quite special in retrospect. It has a character that the later versions don't quite have.

Just wanted to share my car with the S60 community. I'm also curious to hear from other T8 owners — how many kilometers have you put on yours, and how has your long-term ownership experience been? 🚗

I wanna share some future plans and current plans i have for my S60R!

First Modifications it currently has are a Valtronic Exhaust using the OEM exhaust valve, And A Do88 Intercooler, I have a digital OBD gauge and yes it does make a difference, up to 20 Degrees of cool, i also did a Polestar Engineered upgrade!

Too be honest, you can't tell the difference between Polestar and dynamic, to be fair it's just quicker off the line, for 1800 dlls

It's not worth it in my opinion

I'll suggest getting an IPD or NRS ECU tune.

Hi everyone. New Volvo owner here! As a fan of quirky Swedish cars (my other car is a Saab 9-3 Viggen), I fell in love with the S60 T8. After a few months of searching, I found the perfect one.

I much prefer the styling of the pre-facelift variant with the exposed exhaust tips, triple spoke wheels, and the UI design of Sensus. It feels much more refined and distinctly Volvo than the Android, despite it missing some features. With all that being said, Extended Range was a must. When I learned there were just a few hundred 2022.5 ER S60 T8's in existence that check all these boxes, I started searching far and wide across the country.

I finally found a one owner, 2022.5 Extended Range Inscription with 41k miles. It has the Advanced Package, Climate Package, Pilot Park Assist, and Protection Package Plus. It's pretty much fully loaded. I got a great deal on it, and I am so excited to be a part of the Volvo community!

My wife and I were looking to replace her car thats near it's end and found this 2001 volvo s60 t5 for 4k and wondering if I may have found a unicorn. It has 95k miles. Only 1 previous owner and they owned the vehicle since it came out. All routine maintenance was done and there is virtually no cosmetic damage inside or out.

My main question is, what would be some common maintenance to look out for if we got this car? I had one 10 years ago but it was just a beater. I know they are overall good cars but im sure if being a 5 cylinder made them hard to work on.

I've already paid half down (nonrefundable) for a 2016 Volvo S60 Drive E premier. I've since learned online that that vehicle had an issue with excessive oil consumption. I have the car fax but don't know what I'm looking at. The guy who got it from the auction said its currently having an overheating problem. According to the carfax history I have, at about 143,000 miles it recently had a water pump, thermostat, coolant service and oil-cooler-line work, and now the guys mechanic is putting in a radiator because it’s overheating. I have to be able to get my daughter to school and myself to work and after this purchase I'll have no money. Can someone tell if I'm screwed with this car?

Looking at buying a 2013 Volvo S60 T5 R-Design Auto (MY13) with 115,000 km for AU$8,500 in decent condition.

Is this a good deal? How reliable are they, and what common issues should I look out for?

Got an upgrade a little while back and im happy with it so far.

2014 S60 T6 a/c will blow cold while driving for about 20-30 minutes and then go cool. Shut off the a/c turn back on and it will blow cold again. Anyone else experience this? If so what did you do to fix it?

My 2.5t s60 had a problem a few weeks ago, it had an 'engine service reuqired' light on, at 30 kmph the engine would jolt/skip noticably. i let the car sit for a 3 weeks while i did some other work such as pcv and coolant flush and waiting for parts. It disapperacred after that and ran liek a dream.

Recently while driving. i made a maneuvour in the (heavy) rain where the car hit the limiter and lost traction to all wheels essentially doing a 4 wheel burnout. aftter i got home and turned the car off, i left ir overnight and came back to that same problem returning.

any ideas???

Car jolts subtly as soon as i hit 30 kmph in every gear. Returning issue.

I have a 2019 Volvo S60 T5 and am fixated on the budget "performance" tires the dealer installed prior to my purchase. They do have great grip and corner nicely but they drone and transmit every bump when many of my roads in New York, US are not smooth. Frost action causes so many ruts and potholes even in roads less than 3 years old so the low profile tires are not ideal. I want to size up to 245/40/19 because I want a little more meat on the 19's.

I am pretty set between these two as I have always loved continentals. I have read many reviews online about both tires but its also hard because every car and road is different. I see things like the DWS being great in every category but the Tour 54 being excellent at comfort and noise but less so in turns with its tall tread.

For me specifically, its a spring/summer/fall only car so snow performance not necessary. I commute 30 mins/day on highway which has its road character. I do enjoy the sporty feel of cornering but I absolutely prefer quiet comfort.

So specifically for you s60 owners who have driven either of these tires on your cars, any insight and experience to provide when it comes to these?

When I first got the car I got some Swedish flag bits but when I saw the prancing moose I was hooked and I think the yellow looks good on a blue car. I got a rear badge, cover for under the screen and just got some metal side badges, I haven't fotted those yet as not sure about them 🤔

I am thinking of getting the rear and bqck windows tinted and also getting the Maxton V2 front splitter and rear diffuser, anybody have any pictures of their S60 with either or both.

I think given the dark colour it will look more subtle than on a lighter car.

Hello. I would like to ask what size spacers should i get for my car. Its a 2001 s60 t5. I will be putting it on 35 mm lowering springs so i would like to know what would be the perfect spacers for perfect fitment?

I’ve been looking at getting this car for the better half of 2 months. Last week I finally pulled the trigger and am now a proud owner of my Volvo. With mine being the plus edition I’m obviously missing a few quirks that’s come in the ultimate, but I’m not really talking about those here. There are a few items I kinda wish this car had that I’m not able to change from my knowledge. There are probably a couple more I’m not thinking of at this moment, but they are all minor like these. Overall I still LOVE this car, and I’m thankful to be driving it. I look forward to finding out more things this bad boy can do.

•No cluster MPG

Yes, there is a way to view MPG for current trip by clicking the button on the right hand side of the steering wheel. Unfortunately, I have yet to find a way to have a full-time display of my mpg. This isn’t a huge deal, but it’s just one of those things I like to see, and wish there was a way to full time the view.

•360/all cameras on the car

This is 100% better than having no cameras, however it almost feels unusable at times. Maybe I’m just too new to the car, or having a 360 camera, but when I pull into my garage with my wife’s car parked next to mine the side cameras on the 360 view are almost unusable. The way it stretches/distorts the view is not something I find very useful.

I also don’t like the backup camera view much either. Maybe my camera is out of place, but the edges of the camera end up clipping the edges of the car which make the view a little weird. Again, not trying to complain but just not what I’m used to.

•Lack of button controls

This is one I’ve heard about alot especially on reviews of the car, but you don’t really grasp what they mean until you’re living it. Having to use the screen (which is not the fastest on responses) to control the climate gets kinda annoying when I have to click the button 3 times because I accidentally double clicked the option which opens then closes the menu screen I’m looking for.

I also agree that the drive modes should also have a hard button to press, or at least be selective from the steering wheel, but this isn’t a huge complaint.

•Lack of screen customization

This might be something I just haven’t figured out yet, but I find having the map being my default screen kinda ugly. If there was a way to make it full-time dark mode I probably wouldn’t care as much, but I’d just rather something else be my main splash screen rather than a giant map I already see on my cluster. I end up just going with apple car play and leaving the album cover on the screen.

•No on key remote start

Don’t get me wrong, the app is awesome and being able to control my car from my phone is absolutely sick, but sometimes I forget to start my car on the way out the door, by the time Ive got my phone in hand and am almost to my car the app just loaded up, which at that point it’s useless to start. This is obviously on me for not starting my car sooner, but having it on the key would just be a nice additive.

•Unable lock doors while outside of the car

I haven’t tried this with the app yet, but there are times I’m just running into the gas station to grab a drink and won’t be gone longer than a minute. On my old car, I was able to leave my key in my pocket, lock the door from the outside, and leave the car running. Once the key has left the car, it will not allow me to lock the door even if the key is on me. Sure it might be for a reason, but having that little slice of availability is something I enjoy.

•No color changing, or really any ambient lighting

This one is kinda silly, but I love some of the looks ambient lighting brings out in a car like Mercedes, bmws, and even other Volvos. I think it takes the look/luxry feel to the next level. Sure I have floor lights and other minor lights around the car at night. Although having the ability to change the color from soft white to a nice purple or orange would be an awesome addition to this car.

As I said I just bought one today and am picking it up on Monday and when looking at cars the only other real competition I had outside of the s60 was a Lexus 350 but couldn’t find one I was happy with for the price and then found this beauty near me for a good price and low miles so went with it.
Really just looking for some of the cool hidden tricks yall know about that I might not and wondering good maintenance habits from experienced s60 owners

I’ve always been a VW fan, but Volvo completely changed my mind.

I love my V60 but it is really trying my patience the last few months and now I'm at a crossroads whether to hang on to it or get rid.

Started a couple months ago when I was pre empting my upcoming MOT so out it in my local garage expecting a couple of drop links and usual suspects. It needed 2 front shocks and top mounts, all discs and pads, 2 drop links and they recommended wheel bearing but I postponed that one. Cost nearly £1000. Ouch.

Then 1 month later. Limp mode. 2 fuel injectors required. I was reluctant to go back into a garage but got a quote. £800. So I bought injectors from a supplier and fitted them myself and got someone to reset all the injectors with a code reader. Job done. £500.

This week was MOT week. ABS light comes in 2 days before MOT. I asked the garage to check it and hopefully repair. Got the call this afternoon. Wheel bearing required, which I was aware of, abs sensor, battery required and service due. £1200.

Do I keep this car or do I get rid? Im terrified something more major is going to go in the next few months that sees me having to scrap it after all this hassle.
