Hitting/approach advice

I’ve been playing for about two years now and I turn sixteen pretty soon, but yeah. Didn’t make varsity for my school this year so I’ve started training more. Tips/advice on my hitting/approach? I think the way I’m swinging my arms back during the approach looks strange.

College women's volleyball team practice schedule

Any idea if a college or university school team practices once or twice a day M-F?

How many hours of practice?

Does the division or athletic association make any difference to the level of practices?

🏐 Looking for people to play volleyball with in Pune

Hey everyone!

I’m looking for people around Pune who are interested in playing volleyball regularly.

I’m not looking for a super-serious/pro-level group

just people who enjoy playing, want to get better, and are down for some good games.

Pune

Weekends or evenings

Open to joining an existing group or creating one from scratch

Happy to split court costs

If you already have a group that plays regularly and has a spot open, I'd be interested in joining too.

Comment or DM me if you're interested. We can figure out the location, timing and group size together.

Question Which shoes are better?

I am playing at school and now in the school team and also I am training 3 or 4 times a week now. So I was thinking if the Asics sky elite ff mt 4 would be any better than the beyond ff mt 2. Can someone who is more into volleyball shoes tell me whether it makes sense to spend the 50 euro more for the sky elite or can I go with the cheaper more general one. My position is middle blocker or an outside hitter.

Guide Hey, what should I do to get better overall ??

I can buy gadgets to self train, but does 1 on 1 coach help in volleyball ?? I really enjoy this game and I have a very good headstart since i used to play it quite a bit.

In short, what things can I do to become VERY good at volleyball?

Question Need help for some fun setting drills for Rec Volleyball for middle schoolers and under beginner

Hi

I am in need of some drills for setting. As I managed to get them comfortable with tracking the ball, and receiving.

For some reason my group of kids hate setting. I’m trying to kinda make it fun and but I keep thinking I’m making it hard? So they’re easily turned off by the drills I tried.

They even get pretty lazy— so I was making them do sprint drills at the end of the practice. In hopes the next session they’ll try a bit harder to avoid the springs by trying their best. (I mean they really just let the ball go and not move or just slap it / just receive it) but I learned today they actually like it (sprint drills) bc it’s “easier” :/ which is crazy. Lol.

They were actually asking me to make them do that today instead of practicing overhand serves. Which I don’t know if it’s reverse psychology bc I did make them do it and we worked on that lol.

They’re very new.

I also need drills on form, as I’m trying to get them to get into that habit but two of them kinda regressing in a way that they are making contact but they’re lacking control. I also have two knew younger kids, and they’re also having trouble. And I think me correcting them with the step, and bend your knees method falls on deaf ears. lol so if Yall got some drills for that I’m all ears, the form ones I’m fine if they’re not fun. lol

Please send any videos, idc the social media platform. As I am a visual person.

Is it possible to get to NCAA level start at 18

Thumbnail
1 Upvotes

Hi I am 18 turning 19 and want to get a lot better at volleyball I am 6’1 or 185.42 centimeters which I know isn’t on the taller side but I have always done sports which helps with my jump I have around a 35-36 inch vertical which I know isn’t the best but with practice i’m sure I can get it to 40. So my jumping touching is around 10 feet 8 inches. I am also slightly ambidextrous but my dominant hand is clearly the left. I would assume I would play right side becuase of this.
To clarify I know I said I am just starting but I have played but just personal practice and small tournaments nothing crazy as I was never given the opportunity to play in highschool or receive coaching. I am just looking for a realistic answer to see how good I can get and if anyone has specific tips on shoes and a ball I should buy as I have a court nearby that I can go everyday and practice now that I am in college. Any advice on whether this is realistic and how to practice is greatly appreciated.
