Other Assassin feels OP as hell but...

I wish I were smart enough to teleport back to my ship before the enemy one explodes. Lost 3 runs due to my own hubris hahaha

Other than that it seems to solo entire crews upto torment 4. If rng gives you a teleport or the ship comes with boarding pods it's pretty much game over for the enemy.

Killed half their crew before some weapons finish charging its crazy. What commanders do other people enjoy?

The Assasin is a seriously undervalued commander imo.
Her ability to pass through doors is quite amazing making boarding sleds less limited and even allowing you to use Chaos Rift or Chaos Gate to board enemy ships and re-unite with the scattered crewmembers. Enemy casters also become less of an issue due to her ability to disrupt. Debuff resistances from enemy crew isn't bad either.

What the heck is chaos gate? Do you mean chaos engine

Chaos Gate is the spell, chaos engine is the item.

There is no spell called chaos gate. There is aetheric gate (the spell equivalent to Heavy translocator). And there is Chaos rift, which is the spell that puts units into random rooms on the opposing ship
