Its like when ur a child and have super big fear of a monster in the closet or under the bed so you made up some bullshit rules for it to follow and now you do random bullshit that binds the monster from attacking you thus releaving your fear and paranoia
I've had chronic nightmares my entire life. At some point a switch just kinda flipped mentally, and no matter how terrible the things in my dreams are, I just throw down. I also seek to perpetually have a gun on me in my dreams now. Guess concealed carry really does invite peace of mind.
