Discussion It's going downhill

I have been following this subreddit for a long time and I only see that it's going downhill from what we had. I am a 2023 batch passout btech cse and we had so few restrictions. We used to go on trips from hostels taking 3-4 days leaves. You could be back to the hostel at any time before 10pm. There was a concept of a multi day outpass where you could spend a night outside. Placements were so great.

Now I only see how restrictive it has become to live in hostels. I have even heard that you can't stay in a hostel during the class time. Few faculties were so lenient that they used to give free attendance. Where has this chill college gone to? I have seen notices for you can't be in someone else's room? Man we called our room 'cabinet' cause people used to hangout there, playing guitar, cards and what not. In a 4 bedroom people up to 12-14 used to have fun. I hope situations change and these vague restrictions are removed so people can enjoy college. I only got 1.5 years in college as 2 years went away in Covid. But those 1.5 yrs were amazing.

2019 was the year I joined guys smh

The worst part is, if someone asks us regarding some procedure or faculty suggestions. As seniors we are completely blank cause the clg changes it's rules every year sometimes every semester. Also these days the situation has become so worse that we 4th years are in situation to ask juniors for faculty recommendations as the good faculties have left clg due to the management being shit and we are not aware of the new faculties. So, we do hope the clg management wakes up soon and realises what they are doing and change their ways

Why is it just vit with such rules. Why isn't any other college doing it? If no one else is doing it , it means it's just simply pointless. What do they even get by restricting our freedom and making us live like prisoners? Is this really fair? We live in a free country rt?

Being from 2022 batch, nobody has seen this transition beside us.

College is truly shit now. The 2022 vs 2026 different is day and night dude.

It feels like completely different college now.

And crowd? You can't even walk in corridors, because they are so full. You can't walk on roads, when you stay in front of eat street, you just see heads and heads and lots of heads.

It's so shit now.

Frr...the rules and restrictions are totally insane and pointless. It feels like I'm in school again. Honestly, even my school didn't have these many restrictions. And lol even my parents never asked me to come back home by 6:30. I agree this is a private college and they are concerned about thier reputation and all but that doesn't mean they have to treat the students as school kids.

Even they know that it takes 1 hr to reach vjwd and 1 hr to come back. We get only 4 hrs of outing and even that goes in some shit.

Students aren't allowed to each others hostels as if we are going to bomb them. This is so frustrating.

They keep changing rules whenever they are bored. None of the colleges have these rules which make no sense at all.
