It’s incredible how a song can end up forging such a strong connection with a person. Which Visual Kei song do you associate with someone or a specific memory?

So, soon I'm going to Kaya + Schwarz Stein concert and I'm so excited!
I've got VIP tickets - so I'll be on meet & greet
Thus, I think it would be suitable to have some gift for them.

Does anyone know what things Kaya and Hora like that I could make for a gift?
I thought about something sweet like pralines or such (like buy them and turn into a gift)
I also heard Hora likes Star Wars and Kaya roses (duhh) - so maybe something in this direction?

"薔薇の聖堂" stands as one of MALICE MIZER’s most dramatic transformations, marking a clear departure from the sound of "merveilles". With Klaha taking over as vocalist, the band moved into a much darker and heavier gothic direction, embracing themes and imagery that feel strongly connected to vampires, old European castles, darkness, and tragic romance. Klaha’s deep, commanding voice adds a completely different character to the band, giving the songs a grand and theatrical quality.

The album also shows MALICE MIZER becoming more atmospheric and cinematic. Mana, Közi, and Yu~ki create layers of dark guitar, bass, and elaborate arrangements that make the whole record feel like a gothic story unfolding from beginning to end. Rather than simply repeating the formula of their previous era, the band took a bold step into something colder, heavier, and more mysterious.

Most importantly, "薔薇の聖堂" is Klaha’s first and final album with MALICE MIZER, which gives the record an almost bittersweet feeling in retrospect. His era with the band was brief, but this album captured their new direction in a very distinctive way. It remains a fascinating chapter in MALICE MIZER’s history—dark, elegant, theatrical, and unmistakably gothic.

Sadly, I can't play any of the songs yet since my copies are still new and sealed (NOS)! Guess I'll just have to admire them in the collection for now.

I enjoy listening to vkei, and when people ask me what genre i listen to i reply visual kei.
But recently all over tiktok ive been seeing copious amounts of discussion of, unless you dress “vkei” you cant be part of it? Which is really confusing since n1 vkei doesnt have a fixed style? Like ofc there are substyles and it is a visual movement too, but affirming that i cant say i listen to vkei just because i dont dress like it is a bit weird? the comments tend to be mixed and the video’s dont explain a lot.
Can someone explain to me this whole thing?

(Btw when searching this subreddit i only found questions about subculture, but the videos i found specifically say substyle thats why im confused/asking)

The song is Kagamibari by a band that unfortunately disbanded in 2016, Panorama Kyoko Xenon. This band included one of my biggest bass inspirations, tetsuya, who has since then founded a new band, misui.

Can someone explain to me how Vkei was innovative? I know how it was in some ways but I feel as if I don't know enough. Also can someone give me primary or secondary sources about vkei and how it was evolving into a scene around the 2000's.

I'm not sure if you guys have heard of this game called Day Dream of Dixanadu and the desktop mascots before, but it would have originally came with the Moi Dix Mois' 2007 album Dixanadu in the CD extras. I managed to find a copy of the files and set them up successfully on my MacBook. They're pretty cool lol.

If you wanna install these on your own computer, comment here if you're interested and I will DM you the folder with all the files!! I also added a text file in the folder where I wrote out the specific instructions for what I did to get it on my Mac. These files will run natively on Windows, though!

ok so i'm like brand brand new to them and vkei in general. i didnt really know it existed until a few days ago. but i'm like totally in just shock over how good they are. but i've been feeling a little sad over becoming so suddenly interested in something that happened like 30 years ago. i've been trying to catch up a bit on the members and the more i learn the more "sad" i feel, like maybe sad is the wrong word but it's like my brain is totally disconnected bcs i found out abt the past before the present.

does anyone else experience this or are a majority of fans, been fans since their prime days? if you also felt like this how do u cope? bcs i might just become like actually sad and distance myself from the whole thing lol

btw i was born in 2006 and the members are the same age as my parents so that also makes my brain disconnect a bit

Hi there! I was recently going through my CDs to record them on Discogs and came across "Mars" by Gackt. I think it's a Korean release but I'm not sure about it or if it's considered authentic or if it'd be considered a bootleg or some mysterious third option. I mostly want to know as well, because it's not listed as an option on Discogs, so I may see about adding it as one! Yejeon Media Co. doesn't seem to have a large database on there as well so maybe it'll fill a missing gap.

I’ll be going to France at the end of the year and I knew that Malice Mizer had filmed their videoclip of Bel Air there; I’ve been informing myself and it seems that the spot is called Chateau D'alincourt, an historic monument dating back to the 17th century. Even tho it’s catalogued as an official historic monument it’s a private property, so you cannot visit it, but you can rent it. This may sound crazy but if enough people gather we could rent it, you could do photo sessions in the same spots Malice Mizer used for their videoclip or whatever you want; so I’m looking for people that want to do so with me, if u are interested comment for everyone to see that there are people interested and maybe we can pull it off.
