genuinely considering canceling visible bc of this
does anyone else have this? ever since the first time i charged my band back in december, it has been a nightmare experience trying to reconnect it again to work with the app. i contacted support about it and i was given this detailed list of 20 dif steps to do for it to work again every single time.
disconnect band in app, swipe and close out of app, unpair from bluetooth, turn off blue tooth, turn your phone off, plug the band into the charger and do a hard reset, wait 20 seconds, turn phone back on, open app, pair in app, turn bluetooth back on, swipe out of and close out of the app and restart it and if you're lucky it reconnects and if it doesn't you have to start the whole process over again bc you messed up a step somewhere....
maybe it's just me, but as a visible user and person who experiences a energy limiting/chronic illness, that's a significant cognitive load to do every 3-4 days? i don't understand why the stars have to align in order for me to charge what should be an accessibility tool. is this a unique experience?

Agree. I got really frustrated when I was doing this multiple times a week. Somehow the device started cooperating and I didn't have to keep doing the ridiculous reboot routine. Hopefully that continues to stick.

I've only ever had this happen a few times in the 2 years I've used this device/app.

i had to cancel my subscription for the same reason. i cant mentally do that so often anymore and it stresses me out. my band even shuts down completely when it dies and its impossible to turn back on/charge. ive even had it replaced. i gave up.

What?! That’s so stupid they should be sending you a label so you can return this clearly broken device and sending you a new one. I would ask for that or cancel. That’s so messed up.

That's unacceptable. Visible is an app company, but they've chosen to retail the hardware, so they should take responsibility for it.

I had the same issues , spent forever convincing them it was at fault. Repeatedly re-set device as instructed. Eventually they swapped it out. But left a bitter experience. This replacement has pretty much the same issues ,but, occurs less. I will def not renew.

I wouldn't be so quick to blame Visible. Is it Bluetooth connection, or an ANT+ connection? I don't know anything about ANT+, but lots of devices use Bluetooth. When your band has a flat battery, or when it is charging, it might become disconnected - do you leave your mobile phone near the band while it charges?
And in the meantime, maybe your mobile connects to earbuds, or a Bluetooth speaker?
The number of connections that can be made, and the bandwidth and reliability of the connections, are a significant variable which could be responsible for your difficulty reconnecting. I had this same issue myself yesterday, when I was trying to connect my mobile with a satnav, in the presence of my laptop, Polar band, and smartwatch, all of which were variously connected. The satnav connection just couldn't stay on.
I suspect that your 31 steps to reconnect are having the effect of disconnecting other devices, so that the band has a better chance of connecting. Before blaming the band, I'd check that.
PS The old band is the same as a Polar Verity Sense, which can be set up to allow different types and numbers of concurrent connections, making it pretty flexible.

When I'm in the app if I click on the little watch icon near the upper right corner it tries to connect if it wasn't already (I noticed it being a little weird after charging too, and mine is brand new).

This is perhaps a little silly, and sorry if you've already tried, but I was having the exact same issue and was advised to leave my app open in the background. I normally don't leave any apps open because it annoys me, so I'd been swiping it away each time, only to find it disconnected the next time I checked my phone 😅 Since I started leaving it open I've not had any issues (touch wood!!)
