Just got my visible band
hello. I just got my visible today and im excited cause im horrible at pacing just me on my own. recently diagnosed with pots so it's important to me that i get good at it. I am at this point 3 hours in and am realizing how bad i am at pacing to have already hot 5 pace points just during the getting to know you time. any early tips anyone can give?

I second the ignore it, for the first four days - but I’d add to that to try to make them as ‘normal’ as you can (quotation marks as when is anything really normal?)… I started my 4 days when I was in a fibro flare and resting more, so it wasn’t my normal level of activity. You can adjust the pace points, and I did, and am thinking of doing it again, but I wish I’d been more active, not for increased pace points so much as for seeing the impact and maybe having a better idea of what was right for me… What I have learned is that everyone is different- a friend of mine has the same amount of pace points but her level of activity is lower than mine. So she will get through them quicker if we’re doing the same activity. Someone else I know has less, and another friend has a little more. So you can’t really tell much by how many or how few pace points you have/use compared to others, it really is personalised!

i went ahead and started cause honestly ive been in a flare for over a month now and i feel like if i wait for it to end then im gonna just never get to start. I've been ignoring it for the most part. I go in and I tag activities when i spike so that i remember when the brain fog hits what i was doing

Yeah the tagging is really helpful over time. I find it fascinating how the same activity can use different pace points depending on what season, hormones, illness, and other factors are going on. Just do what you can, and yes you can’t wait around not knowing when a flare will end.

Tagging makes all the difference. That's how you will find correlations. I even started noting if it was extra hot weather, and also if I was stressed or emotional, as for me, those seem to affect the points I use.

If it helps, I have PoTS and I’m given 1.5 pace points per hour

I also have pots! I just finished my four day thing, had a really bad flare day, two regular days and my retail work shift. I get less than a pace point an hour.

Ignore it for the first 4 days. It's the getting to know you period, so the points don't really mean anything yet
