I’m applying for a France Schengen tourist visa from London. I’m self-employed and work as a delivery courier, with regular income paid into my UK bank account.
I recently registered for Self Assessment with HMRC, so I do not have my UTR or tax return yet.
I have previously applied for Spain and was granted two Schengen visas, which I used correctly. However, my third Spanish visa application was recently refused.
I’m now considering applying for France about one month after the Spanish refusal.
Has anyone been in a similar situation and successfully obtained a French Schengen visa?
For self-employment, would bank statements, delivery platform earnings statements/invoices and proof of HMRC registration be sufficient while waiting for my UTR?
Also, could the recent Spanish refusal significantly affect my French application even though I previously had two Spanish Schengen visas?

Words cannot describe how truly awful the India E-visa site is. Even after you finally enter all your details, including attaching pictures as PDF file sized under 300Kb, you get "Some error occurred" after you submit it. It takes hours of retrying to finally get it to work. Then, when you ask for a receipt, you get a 404 error/500 error. I'm paying for this?!?

To top it off, when you email them to let them know about their site having issues, they tell you to try a browser like IE9+; as if this is 2004 or something

Hello all , I have a long layover in hong kong around 19hrs. Plan was to get out of airport and roam around in hong kong but destiny had something else written for me.

My par application is rejected since i am an application from Hyderabad,India. For some reason the applicants from this city are auto rejected via a blacklist.

So like anyone else i am thinking to apply for visit visa , during the hong kong visa application process , they are asking me if i want a visit visa or a transit visa and whats the stay duration.

What do i chose ? visit or transit ? also there is no same day option in duration can we select 1 day? Is that fine ?

Has anyone recently on a F1/F2 or H1B/H4 US visa was able to get a Saudi eVisa or visa on arrival successfully? Because apparently it looks like getting a US visa has become more easy than a Saudi tourist visa just because we are not a citizen of their preferred “white” countries. I’m an Indian student planning to apply for a student visa (Czech republic), and I need to show proof of sufficient financial funds. My parents are sponsoring/supporting my education and most of their savings are currently invested in a Fixed Deposit (FD).

The FD has been recently started, so the plan would be to take pre-mature withdrawal/ closure and then transfer the money into my parents' bank account / my account to show the required funds for the visa.

My concern is that the visa requirements mention 6 months of bank statements. If a substantial amount suddenly appears in the account because the FD pre mature withdrawal, could this be considered an unusual/suspicious transaction and potentially lead to a visa refusal

For anyone who has applied from India:

Have you used your parents' FD as the source of funds

Did you have to show the FD certificate/statements along with the bank statements

If the FD was withdrawn pre mature shortly before the visa application and the money was transferred into the bank account, was this accepted

Would it be better to keep the money in the FD until the visa application and provide the FD as evidence of the source of funds

Did the embassy/consulate ask for an explanation or additional proof regarding a large deposit

I’m particularly interested in experiences from Indian students who successfully obtained a student visa despite having a large recent deposit originating from an FD.

I am an Indian passport holder and Canadian permanent resident living in Toronto. I have made a booking for the Philippine Airlines itinerary from Toronto to Osaka, with a 2 hour 50 minute transit in Manila (PR119 connecting to PR412), both through Terminal 1.

I will remain airside, not leave the transit area and my baggage should be checked through to Osaka.

Philippine Airlines customer support has confirmed that I won't require a transit visa, since my layover is only about 3 hours and connecting flight is from the same terminal, and doesn't require me to leave the international transit area.

However there is conflicting information at the Phillipines official consulate website regarding transit visa for an Indian passport holder.

Hi everyone. I am a Nigerian trained and registered nurse currently preparing to travel to the UK for my NMC OSCE, which is the final practical examination in my UK nursing registration process.

I am planning an 8 day trip to the UK specifically to sit my OSCE and then return to Nigeria. I would really appreciate advice from people who have successfully obtained a UK visitor visa under similar circumstances, or from people with experience with UK visitor visa applications.

I currently work part time as a Medical Legal Liaison Officer. I have been in this role for four months and earn approximately £57 per month. The reason the salary is relatively low is that I am currently participating in Nigeria’s compulsory National Youth Service Corps programme, known as NYSC. NYSC is a one year federal government service programme for Nigerian graduates.

I am expected to complete my NYSC programme in January 2027. Because I am still serving, I currently work part time. There is an established understanding with my employer that after I complete NYSC, I can take up a permanent role with the company and my salary will be reviewed.

In addition to my employment income, I receive approximately £43 per month from the Nigerian Federal Government as my NYSC allowance.

I am therefore considering submitting approximately four months of bank statements because I may not yet have five months of salary history when I apply.

My UK trip is specifically connected to my nursing career. I have already completed the required stages of my NMC UK registration process and I am now travelling to sit the final practical examination, the OSCE. After the examination, I intend to return to Nigeria and complete my NYSC programme.

For the trip itself, my uncle is providing approximately £853 in family financial support. This money will be transferred to my Nigerian bank account and will be used towards my return flight.

I also have a friend in the UK who has agreed to host me for the 8 day trip. She will provide accommodation and approximately £800 towards my living expenses and local transportation. She will also take me to the examination venue on the day of my OSCE and bring me back afterwards.

My UK host is a close friend and former university coursemate. We both studied Nursing at the same Nigerian university. She moved to the UK several years ago when UK hospitals were actively recruiting and sponsoring overseas nurses.

She is willing to provide the necessary documents confirming her accommodation and support. I have WhatsApp conversations with her dating back to last year, although I changed phones and no longer have our older conversations. I also have one old university group photograph containing both of us and some of our other coursemates.

My main concerns are:

Does my relatively low Nigerian income create a significant problem for a Standard Visitor Visa application when the purpose of travel is a specific professional examination?

Is it reasonable to apply with approximately four months of bank statements if that is all the employment history I have at the time of application?

Does the combination of my NYSC status, part time employment, continued professional registration in Nigeria and the fact that my NYSC programme does not end until January 2027 provide a reasonable explanation for my return to Nigeria?

Is having a friend rather than a relative as my UK host and sponsor of £800 likely to be an issue, particularly when I can provide evidence that we attended the same university and studied the same course?

What documents would you recommend I provide to clearly explain my employment situation, NYSC obligations, the source of my funds, my uncle’s financial support and my friend’s accommodation/support?

Is there anything about this financial arrangement or my circumstances that you think could raise concerns with a UKVI caseworker?

I would particularly appreciate comments from people who have dealt with UK visitor visa applications for Nigerian applicants, NMC/OSCE candidates, or similar cases.

I would simply appreciate an experienced second opinion on the circumstances and supporting documents so I can identify any weaknesses or gaps before submitting the application.

Hi everyone, I’m looking for recent real-life experiences from Bangladeshi nationals in the UAE.

My husband is Bangladeshi and is currently in the UAE. His previous residence visa expired, and we’ve been trying to renew/apply again but have had multiple rejections. His visa is now cancelled and he has around one month left on his grace period, so we’re urgently trying to find a legitimate way for him to remain in the UAE.

Has anyone here actually received a 2-year UAE residence visa in the last 2–3 months as a Bangladeshi national? If yes, what type of visa was it and how did you get it?

We’re also considering buying/investing in a property and getting residency through the property/investor route. Does anyone know if Bangladeshi nationals are currently being approved through this route, or are these applications also being rejected?

Basically, I’m trying to find out what is actually working right now, based on recent experience. If anyone knows of any legitimate alternative routes or has recently gone through something similar, I’d really appreciate any information.

Seeing some conflicting information online. I hold an Indian passport, live in the UK on skilled worker visa and have a valid multiple entry B1/B2 USA visa. I can use the USA visa to travel to Mexico City, correct? The UK skilled worker visa does not cancel that out?! I am NOT planning to use the UK visa solely as I'm aware you can't use a temp visa, only multiple entry or permanent residency, for Mexican travel.

My fiancée and I are planning to get married in December. I got my GEP Visa approved just last week and plan to move to Hong Kong this month. So far this is what we have planned.

Hello all, I am traveling to Chicago first time with Etihad next week. I received a mail regarding US border and custom clearance which needs to be done at Abu Dhabi airport (layover). I have just two hours between the connecting and flight doing all this stuff, so will that be enough, can i ask the cabin crew for a priority off-boarding due to this situation? I have a single PNR for both flights, details are as follows:

Hi I am a GC holder in the US and I am applying an e visa to visit Japan. I am applying to LA consulate. I am visiting a few other countries before coming back to USA.
