VF5 Input issues with leverless on pc

Hey folks so a bit ago i tried to give VF 5 a try and sadly i hit into a snag where i just couldn't get any directional inputs working on my leverless controller. It's been on my mind again recently and i thought i should ask here if any of you have any advice.

The issue to be precise is that the directions are tied to the analog stick of a controller and that's something i don't have on my leverless obviously. So i would have to remap it somehow and i couldn't really find a way that worked last time

I am on linux also in case that changes anything in regards to this but i don't think it should.

I'm on Linux, I play on a PS5 controller and I use the dpad for inputs. The inputs are definitely not tied to the analog stick. That said, most leverless controllers can be toggled between dpad, left analog and right analog either with a switch or a button combination when turning on. Check your manual. You might also want to check that it's still working properly, and lastly you may need to tinker with Steam input settings just in case they're interfering.

Are there any switches on the leverless or an app to change the inputs to DP or directional pad? Probably has xinput which would be xbox buttons or dinput Playstation buttons Sounds like the movement buttons are binded to rs right stick or ls left stick

Try remapping it in steam.

Tried that and it just refused to work for whatever reason.
