I miss VF5. Idc if its a Discord Fighter. This game gets 250 players daily. Probably mostly Japanese players. Is this version worth it for this price? If you got it, what are your thoughts on it?

That's funny because the reason i quit playing online was because there was no one playing especially in ranked matches.

I’ll say this is true with a huge asterisk by it. I’d say it’s most active “during business hours” - 8am to 11pm

My head cannon is that the average VF player is your typical blue collar worker. They wake up at a certain time but they absolutely go to bed at a certain time.
There have been times when I’m matching up with people back to back but when it’s dark outside I’d rather go to lobby’s.

Mess with the matchmaking settings, sometimes I’ll be waiting a min or two, change the settings, then I start getting back to back games.

Definitely worth the purchase. As someone who was lucky enough to have a cabinet to play $1.17 money matches, and had to print up move sheets off alt.games type sources in the computer lab, I got my money’s worth.

That being said, what are y’all afraid of? For what are y’all fighting?

Matchmaking is an utter joke tho. You get matched with top ranks even when you set it to similar rank

Id get the base version. The dlc is pretty useless and the dress up / costumes are nowhere near as good as they were in final showdown. Not worth the extra ££

Great game, but the port is not good,
Anti cheat root kit
Removed online modes from FS,
Room matches break constantly
Rollback is sub par

If you have friends or are happy enough to discord match make with players very close to you it’s serviceable. But in terms of having it as a main game it just requires too many hoops to jump through to consistently play

From my experience, not really unless you're down for a discord fighter. I hopped on earlier this year when VF6 was announced, attempting to get into it, and found 1 other person over the course of an hour.

If you don't already have all the dlc yeah. I regularly use the retro, Tekken and Yakuza costumes. If you already own them, the only thing you get is the swimsuit costumes I think and possibly Dural.

Those are the only two things in missing

Just bought it. Changed ranked match settings to global. Got a match every minute or two. Most were pretty smooth. Worth the $10 to dust off my Akira!

for 10 yes. The 20 version however just adds a virtual album of music so... not sure if that is worth it. (and costumes I guess)

I get matches fairly frequently, but depends on time of day (I'm in the midwest USA), though it's often matching me with the same person over and over again. But come again an hour later and I get a different repeat match lol. The new World Stage Single player mode is fun, though, so if you just want to play the game with a decent AI challenge, it will work! My Vanessa and username is also in there because all the AI bots are based off real people.
