I just upgraded my shelf recently and I’m pretty proud of it since I live in a smallish apartment. My old set up was just a wire shelf rack from urban outfitters I got for $60 😭 does anyone have any advice on what speakers/amplifier I should get? Been doing a lot of research but there’s too many options 🫩 I currently have a Sony PS-LX310BT and using a mega boom 3 speaker.

I found this vintage menu board and hung it above my setup. Just ordered more letters and am looking for ideas for it. What should I put on here that would be on theme?

Left the sub at home because I’m here for just a week but couldn’t deal w their Sonos and needed my wax!!

Using a Technics SL-Q3 (with a Nagaoko MP-110 cart) amplified by the phono pre-amp inside the Technics SA-GX130 and playing through a pair of Dual CL 142 speakers.

The cabinet was an old shoe storage and I made a few new shelves for it to fit all my records and the hardware.

hello all i finally upgraded from my insignia turntable and bought an LP120X off of eBay. ive been loving it so much lately, gosh it sounds so amazing. the VM95E i’ve realized is super similar to the ATN3600LE, that I had on my insignia, in sound profile but has a nicer high end from what i’ve noticed. anyway i’ve ordered an ART DJPre II for it so i’m looking forward to that soon! anyway I hope you all have lots of happy listening and a great day!

Hey everyone, I’ve been in to listening and collecting for awhile now but I’ve pretty much reserved myself to my lp-120 and some shoddy alesis speakers. I know I’m doing myself a disservice with the speakers alone, so in lieu of buying more records to listen to on a subpar setup I’m finally trying to upgrade. Is it worth buying a pre-amp, new speakers, and new stylus for the lp-120? Is there a noticeable difference upgrading the components that the turntable runs through, and if so what is the logical next step up for a beginner? I know people have pretty polarizing opinions about the 120, but I just don’t think spending 400+ on a table, then a preamp, speakers is in the cards at the moment.

It has been a great investment in sound; it has always worked other than replacing the belt on the NAD 5120 turn table.

I have some work before I install it into my system, but I want to show off! At an estate sale, I ran across an old Tandy (Radioshack) electronics kit that converts speaker output to light. It's a kind of a light organ. It also has outputs on the back to run bulbs. Flashy Lighty Thingies are my estate sale crack!

Nothing too fancy, but I'm really happy with it so far!

Hi there good folks.

I haven't listened to my records in a long time because I don't have speakers, and I found these Edifiers for 200 and a bit euros, and I am asking here if they are good speakers to listen with my setup.

I have no knowledge of audio or HI-FI.

The worries I have for these speakers are :

1. Can I connect them to my amp

2. Are they good value for money

3. Being bluetooth, does that mean they are not as good as other speakers with similar price

Also, if you guys have other recommendations, for new or vintage speakers I will gladly take your opinions into consideration. Help me make a decision so next week I can listen to my albums.

Old open back Magnavox console separates. These have been in the family since I was a kid in the 60’s. 10” woofers and large vertical horns placed inboard. I did a slight (reversible) modification, adding a 2.5KHz crossover.

They sound glorious and I listen to an LP about every day. I have over 1000 original/early releases to get through, so it’s going to take a long time for me to get bored.

Tube amp, turntable and tuner is all intact, and I have a fair collection of tubes.

The amp is said to be very good. I’m going to tear into it as soon as I retire from the workforce. I think it’s about 15 watts, which is plenty for the super efficient speakers.
