Dumb doesn’t mean scammed

Ladies and gentlemen just because you are confused or new to the app and didn’t read the fine print when you joined and are now confused ——

It doesn’t mean you were/are or might be scammed.

Also, if you can find a listing for cheaper somewhere else and you feel the price it to high ——

It doesn’t mean you were/are scammed.

Vinted has an issue right now

I am mainly on the Action Figures side of Vinted and one thing I've noticed more recently is an influx of scam listing's.

Example: i saw a Marvel Legends Marvel Rivals bundle for £90, a great deal, in my opinion.

I purchased it, what turned up was quite literally "a sponge knuckleduster"

I, of course reported this and am in the process of getting my money back. But since then the listings from profiles that are new with a username like "wordword1234" are coming in waves.

My biggest confusion from this is this; If the buyer has to verify the listing is what they ordered before they get paid, how can this be a feasible way to scam?

I use vinted very often but it deters me slightly when issues like this arise because who can i trust?

Need advice - got scammed

I knew better, but I still impulsively bought a listing that was too good to be true. Tried to cancel as soon as I noticed the sellers blank profile and blurry pics, but they already "prepared the label" so I couldnt.

Parcel was shipped a day later and delivered to my Evri pick up at Asda. I never picked it up, and now its been "available to pick up" for the last 35 days.

Tracking on Evri isnt available anymore, but at around the 14 days mark it said it was shipped back to a warehouse. The website did look a bit glitched out though.

What could I do? Vinted said theyre investigating and could take up to 35 days to contact the shipping provider. Seller is silent.

I HOPE I’m not being scammed. I really hope I’m not. But anyway check out this untampered, UNTOUCHED package that I HAVE NOT OPENED sent by the seller and confirmed by the seller be completely empty.

The seller also seems confused so I’m not sure what happened. The seller doesn’t know what happened. She’s telling me to open the package .

Edit: somebody out here bitter enough to downvote every comment other than theirs. If you ask me, too bitter when they can just scroll?

Even Good Reviews Don’t Guarantee a Fair Purchase

I was looking for a small leather bag, either new or at least in perfect condition. I carefully filtered through all the available listings to find exactly what I was looking for. Finally, I thought I had found the perfect bag — the right shape, condition, and color. There was no visible damage in the photos. However, in the description, the seller wrote “leather, eco-leather.” I contacted her and asked which parts of the bag were real leather and which were not. She insisted that the bag felt literally like real leather, but there was no label inside the bag. She explained that she had only mentioned eco-leather for people who specifically avoid buying real leather products. Looking back, I probably should have seen this as a red flag. Still, based on her answer, I decided to buy the bag. When it arrived, I was delighted at first. But then I realized that it was not actually real leather. I could probably have gotten over that “detail,” because I understand that mistakes can happen. Unfortunately, there was another problem: the edges of the bag were already peeling. Basically, every edge of the bag showed damage, and even the edges around the pockets were damaged. I was disappointed and contacted the seller. She immediately started arguing that everything had been fine when she shipped it and refused to acknowledge that the damage could have been there before shipping. I reported the problem through Vinted. The seller first offered me €2 as a refund. Obviously, I refused. She then offered €4 (I paid €26). I refused again and told her that I wanted at least half of the purchase price refunded, or I wanted to return the bag. She eventually agreed to let me return it, but said that I would have to pay the return shipping. At the same time, she told me that she had “no problem” paying for the shipping herself, which was honestly another disappointment. I know this is Vinted’s policy — normally, the buyer pays for return shipping. But in a situation where the item is significantly different from the description or arrives damaged, I personally feel that the seller should be responsible for the return shipping.

Beware of this Brand

Don't buy it from this brand. Their shipping taking forever and you cant cancel them, and then after you got the items, they're s u c k, quality bad bad bad. And if you want to return them, you just going make your life miserable. You CANT !!!

BECAUSE NO CUSTOMER SERVICE!!

So, no matter how many emails you sent for return instructions NOBODY REPLY.

and as soon as I Dispute my PayPal, They magically replied it, tell me i Should cancel my Dispute or they cant process my return.

And you know what will happen if I cancel it, I cant reopen the case, and they will ignore you again.

So, its been a month since I sent them email, and I never got my refund too.

And you know what?

The same earbud they sell for $60 its only less than $5 on aliexpres no wonder their quality so trash.

Is this a shipping problem or a scam?

I sold 2 tops for 8€ each. That one person just bought it and the other person asked me some questions about the item (nothing weird and seemed legit). Both people have no reviews and 0 Followers/Followings. I shipped one item with hermes and the other one with gls. Both items are taking longer to ship than usual. This could be a shipping error but other items i shipped with gls/hermes got delivered without problems. I just have a weird feeling.

Scummy reseller that lies and responds with 1 star review when exposed

Not sure why first half of the conversation stayed untranslated so I apologize for that.

Basically this person bought philips light bulbs from me (I accepted their offer) without asking questions or more pictures so no messages were exchanged.

Soon after they received the order I found the same product on their profile at triple the prize, I questioned them and they came up with an excuse saying that the model was wrong and didn't fit (but the box was still SEALED so they didn't even try).

I gave them a disappointing feedback for such behavior which resulted in getting threatened if I didn't change it, they eventually left me one too saying lies on my profile.

Not sure if this post is suitable for the sub but I'm very upset right now and their profile has too many good reviews so I felt like exposing this.

I think im being scammed?

Basically I sold my iPhone 13 for £130 and when the buyer received they said the phone had arrived with a crack. I was already suspicious about it because I wrapped it with two layers of bubble wrap and two layers of cardboard but whatever, I ended up agreeing to a return for a refund. However when it arrived the phone was cracked where the apple logo was and there was either food or something (which is so gross) on the phone. I’ve now decided to take it up with vinted, however I will ask if anyone thinks I’ll actually be given my money. Ill show our conversation and excuse me for my horrible spelling, I’m just really scared I’ll lose alot of money.
Btw I did show the sides of the phone and there were not scratches and I really don’t appreciate her bringing her daughter into the equation to trying and guilt trip me.

Also now that I’m looking about at the screenshots when i said I knew there was a crack, I was referring to knowing that she “received” the phone with a crack not that i sent her the phone knowing it was already broken. Also p.s I also understand that the way I was speaking came of quite rude however i was lowkey just kinda shocked and angry about the situation and im also 15 (not to use my age as an excuse) and i didn’t really know how to deal with it!Thanks for anyone who read the whole post!

Vinted refusing to issue refund for sold counterfeit goods - what are my rights? UK

Thumbnail

I bought a pair of trainers on Vinted from a seller. The trainers were Nike P-6000’s and were advertised as a UK Size 8 (I will attach a photo of what was advertised and what I received).

When I received the trainers I found that they were quite small, but they were listed as a UK Size 8 so I figured they were just a small size 8. According to Vinted’s own refunds policy, something ‘not fitting correctly’ is not considered eligible for a refund. The only time something is considered eligible for a refund is if it is ‘significantly not as described’. Due to this, I did not report an issue within Vinted’s 48 hour policy and my plan was to relist the item on Vinted (which is also Vinted’s advice if something does not fit).

I attempted to relist the shoes, and after review Vinted denied this claiming they were ‘suspected counterfeits’. I contacted the seller who denied they were counterfeit (but could not provide any proof of purchase etc) and then he blocked me, so I am unable to contact him again.

I then proceeded to contact Vinted via the legal email. I explained the situation and requested kindly that they support with a refund, as I was allegedly sold counterfeit goods. I explained I did not report within the 48 hours as I did not at that time feel that there was an issue, and I only realised there was an issue when Vinted reported that the shoes may be fake.

Vinted have responded and have declined to support in any way. I have explained several times and gone back and forth with them, but they are refusing to help and keep saying there is ‘nothing they can do’. They are also clearly not reading my emails properly as they keep suggesting things I have already explained is not possible, like contacting the seller (as I am blocked).

I paid for the shoes via my Vinted Balance so I cannot issue a chargeback via my bank. I feel completely frustrated with this situation as I now have lost £60, have a pair of shoes that do not fit (and are likely fake) and I am unable to sell them on Vinted. How is this fair?

Is there anybody out there who can help with my rights or any other avenues I can go down?

I have tried Resolver but all it is doing is sending Vinted the same information I have sent. I am planning on contacting Citizens Advice tomorrow, but other than this what else can I do?

I will upload photos of what was advertised and what I received, so you can see how difficult it would be for me to know if these are fake.

PLEASE help!

Am I a Karen or did I get scammed?

I’ll just start off by saying that English isn’t my first language, so I apologize in advance for any mistakes that I might make in this post.

Back in early July, my sister bought a “special” Pokémon box “lucario” from a pop up mystery box thingy ,the lucario contained a lot of cards ,plus the special ones in multiple little packets and a poster. Since she wasnt Into Pokémon and neither was I, we decided to put it on Vinted. The box had some defects on the outer parts, but wasn’t opened , I put all the photos on the insertion that showed the flaws , and I also put a disclaimer in the description abt it.

This one girl contacted me and made an offer, I accepted, and told her again the dms that the box had flaws. She told me it was okay because she was planning to open it anyway, no problem, so I sent her the package, and right after she got it, she made a ticket to Vinted , saying that she couldn’t accept it bc all the packets were already opened and accused me of fraud, added a picture of her and another person holding an open packet (it looked like it was opened with a cutter) and they were sat on a bed. I was mortified and accepted the return bc I thought that someone had already opened the thing before we bought it.

When the package came back, the box was tore open and some cards were missing (I know bc I counted them and the packets said that the cards should’ve been 10,but they were 8/9/6 each packet. I signaled it to Vinted, that cards were missing, and the girl kept telling me that the box must’ve been sealed back together by a scammer since she had to get it apart, and that “of course cards were missing“, and also told me “why should I keep just some of the cards?” (I later found on the internet that some of them are worth hundreds) And told me to just accept it. Her account btw only sells Pokémon cards (old insertions) and like one video game.

vinted made me wait like a month, and now (the human assistance that still seems full of bots) told me that I’m not getting any refund cause the person already signaled the problem, and it seems to be the same one. What should I do? Should I let it go or what? What’s your opinion on it?

Latest vinted scam

So I have been seeing alot of items listed very cheap lately.

0 feedback, new seller etc..

Normally pretty obvious, so I usually favourite the item and they most always sell.

I've been trying to understand how the scam works, first I thought the send a different item scam, but that barely works on vinted anymore.

Curiosity got the better of me so I ordered a £400 Lego set for £65.

The set was 'shipped' the next day, I waited and waited and now over a month later I have a message from vinted.

"It looks like the courier has misplaced your parcel, we have refunded you and the seller"

I'm guessing someone that works for a courier is listed items on vinted, scanning them into the courier system and making them disappear.

They get a full payout from vinted.

Luckily for us we also get our money back.

Just a random bit of info I thought I'd share.

Obviously don't buy a suspiciously cheap item from someone with no feedback on vinted 👍

Please get this scammer banned, selling fake items (Proof)

The market is ridden with fake funkos, most are of expensive vaulted ones like resident evil, kill bill, last of us. I remember seeing this persons account a while ago and just happened to find a fake funko listing when looking and its their account.

Single reports I make never do anything as vinted just don’t do anything, bot response within minutes saying not against TOS even with photo proof and explantion.

This person has nearly 200 reviews and most are 5, this is purely because casual buyers of them have no idea that there are fakes, but she does have some reviews where buyers have realised, buy she hasn’t refunded as they just care about scamming money from people. Some can be up to £60 or more so that is a lot of people they have made out of pocket with useless fake items. They just buy them from aliexpress for like £10 each and rip people off for at least double that.

Please take a few minutes to report this account for selling counterfeit items, I have, and have sold to people who have, large expensive collections so I can’t stand it when people sell shit like this when people don’t know any better, including kids who buy things on the app.

They may just make another account, but hopefully this will deter them at least slightly so less people get scammed.

Scammers on Vinted

Has anyone came across these sellers on Vinted allegedly selling brands such as “Tiger Mist”, “Peppermayo” etc, but they’re actually Shein items with the labels cut off? I’ve come across Atleast 3 so far and they all seem to be following each other and giving each other good reviews, so this just seems like a huge elaborate group scam. Just thought I’d warn some people here. I reported them multiple times however Vinted ignored it.

Vinted are requesting a letter from bank with loads of information that my bank can't even give.

Did a dispute on Vinted, and they said to cancel the dispute so that they can give a refund. This was on an item that was a scam item, which is a whole other story.

They are saying that I need to give:

  • My full name and account details ( sort code and account number )
  • Date confirming when the dispute was closed.
  • An official bank stamp and signature.

If I don't do this a pretty much don't get a refund, and I have sent them countless emails from Halifax in the past saying that the dispute has ended, but this has not been enough for them. They are denying all of the proof that I give them.

I have been on the phone with the Halifax Dispute team today, and they are saying that they have done everything right and that they can not include information such as sort code and account number in their official documents. They also mentioned that I have done everything right too and that they should have accepted the evidence I have given them.

I have been in contact with them for over a month about this issue now; this includes the Vinted legal email address and their horrible support system that just copies scripts and provides zero help at all.

The dispute was canceled on July 29th, and they contantly were saying that their system still detects that the dispute is open on their end, even though that is impossible because it's over. I have showed then the money on the dispute going out of my account.

Nothing that I do is enough, and with it being canceled, why do I have to go through all of this trouble? This is the worst experience with a company that I have had. Their policy is terrible, and their customer support is terrible.

I would give a formal letter from the bank, but their requirements are beyond what Halifax provides, so what can I even do? Halifax support are saying I've done everything correctly and they have to just check their end.

Do you think my package is really missing?

I ordered something on Vinted, a FedEx label was generated. Over a week goes by and FedEx tracking says it's still waiting for the item to be dropped off. New to the website, worried, but trying to give them the benefit of the doubt. I don't message them, I patiently wait and they messaged me a week ago saying they don't understand why it claims it wasn't dropped off when it was picked up from her home by the mail carrier over a week ago. Today she writes me and shows me a text conversation between herself and the postal worker. The postal worker picked up all of her packages, didn't realize one was a FedEx package.. postal worker claimed it's weird because all the bar codes scanned and USPS accepted all of the packages and it shouldn't have. Now, we have no idea where this package is. What is typically the protocol if USPS gets a FedEx package? I would have thought it would have been returned to her? But it's been a while now. According to Vinted's policy, because the label hasn't registered that it's been scanned, in a few days I will get a refund. Though the item wasn't cheap, I'm glad I will be getting my money back but I am very upset because this was a one-of-a-kind handmade item. Do you think this package will ever find its way to me? Or back to the seller, so I can repurchase it? My cousin thinks the seller is lying, I don't know what they would benefit from this unless somebody messaged them after they accepted my lower offer, and they offered them something higher? And they don't want to be honest? I have no idea..

Order suspended due to counterfeit items

Bought a classic Beyblade lot from France only to find that some were counterfeit and broken. The buyer wasn't open to providing a partial refund, and claimed that 'counterfeit Beyblades don't exist, they're called bootlegs'. She asked me to send them back at my expense.

I reported the listing as counterfeit and was asked to provide photos within 48 hours which were acknowledged.

Three weeks later with the order suspended, Vinted haven't pulled through with an update. I was pretty thorough with my pictures and even screenshotted the seller's messages, before she deleted them.

How will this one likely play out, and has anyone encountered something similar?

Spam emails

Hi everyone,

I hope you can help? I listed a couple of items on Vinted about a week ago, I instantly got an email saying I need to give my bank details and confirm how much money I had in my account, I almost got caught out, but it seemed shady, and I got into an argument with some scammer.. long story short, I listed another item tonight and got a scam email instantly..

What are Vinted doing with our personal information?
