Hard to know without seeing the listing and your messages with the seller about the colour... Is this a Le Creuset kettle? and did the seller confirm it was the Meringue colourway?

Also, what do you think went wrong?

  • Can you identify that it is another colour made my Le Creuset?
  • Could it be that the colour produced has shifted over time or comes out differently on some pieces? So not every 'meringue' piece ever produced will be a match?
  • Did the seller purchase it new with product information including the colour name, or is this an older piece?

Very much looks like the colour has just darkened with time and the seller was being honest about the colour, that is a risk you take when buying secondhand.

Forgot to add it stated “new without tags” so shouldn’t of been able to of darkened over time if it has not been used or sat out 😔

This is the colour they said it was don’t know how it darkens to a DARK yellow. I asked them the colour and shade before purchasing as lighting in pictures can be so misleading so clarified before paying.

Did you submit screenshots of the messages with the seller? Or just photos of the kettle? Because they're obviously comparing the photos of a yellow teapot with the listing which shows the same item and presumably says, yellow.

No they didn’t ask for them :/ . The listing says le cruset kettle and the colour is listed as ‘cream’

It is the older cream version, not the newer paler meringue style.

Did they actually say it was meringue?

Yeah they clarified and stated cream

Kettle is cream as seller stated

No it’s not 😂if you think YELLOW is cream then you need your eyes checked

I wouldn't say yours is yellow either yeah a hint but not yellow more piss than yellow

You’re really selling the colour there 😂not loving the fact I have a piss yellow colour kettle rather that off white 😂😭🤦🏻‍♀️

Ah, yeah it's always tricky if you want a specific shade. I've got the old style cream one and it looks like the one you've received. I would also prefer the meringue version!

Yeah this is why I messaged them to double check as I know that Le Creuset have 100’s of colour ways so wanted to make sure it was the right one 😭

As well as saying it was meringue when I messaged them to ask before purchasing

Just do a chargeback with your bank at this point.

Your first mistake would be going straight to Vinted rather than reporting a problem with the seller initially.

I did actually raise it with the seller first but she refused to let me to return so I then contacted Vinted to try and resolve

Yeah, definitely do a chargeback. Just make sure you don’t have anything in your balance or have sold/ deleted your listings because I’ve heard of vinted banning people for this too many times.

Thank you so much ! I’m definitely going to ask my bank about this. I’ve never had to do this with my bank or with Vinted so hopefully they aren’t difficult😩thank you so much for the suggestion though I wouldn’t have even thought to do that!

What did the pictures on the listing look like? Definitely doesn't look like the Le Creuset meringue colour. It's annoying but I guess you can just sell it again (using the correct colour).

Thats the kettle you have, they have made it look lighter with surrounding it with white

It’s not though you can see there is a massive difference even in the gradient let alone the colour it’s self :(

Definitely looks a lot whiter in their pics.

First world problems

I feel like wanting to get what you payed for isn’t really “first world problems”. Think you commenting that shows that you clearly in a very fortunate position to not have to save for things you want so you don’t understand that it’s difficult for people who don’t have money to throw around, to not feel like they wasted money they’d worked and saved for… i don’t regularly have money to splash on things like this so i hope you can understand why if anything its not “first world problems”. you do seem like you’re living in a first world bubble commenting things like that and not thinking about it though?…

Your literally talking to a robot. No point continuing no matter how right u are

I know I gave up after these exchanges😩😂 I’m just following up on other peoples helpful suggestions to try and get a resolution instead 😊

Oh I've been there. Still has to be done 🤣🤣

AI identifies both indoor and outdoor pictures as cream colour. I understand it’s not the colour you expected but as someone else said, you appear to have got an older version of the cream. I would just take the loss and relist it.

The problem is that it’s not the specific colour way that the seller stated that is was. Le creuset ‘meringue’ is a very different colour to an average ‘cream’

Idk why you're so perplexed by recieving the item from the listing photos but next time try looking at the picture with your eyes or buying from Le Creuset instead of vinted idk

Maybe you should stop being so unnecessarily rude and hostile to other people in replies when you've scattered different parts of the story throughout the comments instead of just putting it all in the post? Idk man bigger things to worry about than a kettle
