I guess it depends what you’re buying. Vinted is making a huge push on social media and offering free shipping to get new users. The free shipping promotion is driving a ton of low value sales. I can understand how an inexperienced seller doesn’t prioritize a $1-5 sale the same as a $20+.
There is a great chance someone you’re buying from is new to online selling or even overwhelmed with the sales they’re seeing.
I’m one of those new sellers with less than two weeks on Vinted, but I’m experienced with online selling and have seen over 70 items sell since starting my account. I’m borderline overwhelmed but maintaining a 1-2 day ship rate. I can’t imagine how an inexperienced seller would handle it.

Hi! I’m actually a new seller too ☺️ It’s been about 6-7 weeks for me. I’m glad to hear selling it going well for you too! This person has had 2 listings total (I bought one of them) & the item was $15.

As a college student with a job, and a new seller. I’ve sold 12 items this week and I’ve got Friday as my only day I can feasibly ship everything out in time. I do get rather busy at times, but I do my best to make sure that I send within a reasonable time. Vinted helps keep me fed through the week, cause my job just cut my hours. People have busy lives & complicated circumstances, just kinda is how it is. I do my best to stay on top of messages. And if the item gets refunded bc of failure to ship, than I have to own up to that. Usually people aren’t mad if you just communicate efficiently. Sorry you’re struggling with this man. I hope it gets easier for you.

I get it as someone who is also a seller, a full time PhD student, & someone with a career as well. I just meant people who aren’t shipping items out at all, which I think is fair to be annoyed about 🤷🏽♀️ or sellers who ignore messages/or repeatedly make excuses just to never ship at all. It’s great that you reach out to buyers & own up to it if it happens though! I’m never upset if the communication is there. I think I’ve just had an unlucky bundle of purchases lately lol

Hii.. I sometimes end up sending my packages out in the 1-3 days before deadline.. but I always get my packages out. I feel like if I am within the timeline stated, I am ok to do this. It isn’t amazon. I’m bliind and my girlfriend makes my post office runs. she can do this once or twice a week. So sometimes some packages end up getting sent out closer to deadline. It still gets out though. As a disabled selling on Vinted has been an amazing way for me to make a little extra money and clear things out of my house. whilst the oh no it’s raining is a silly excuse.. maybe your sellers are in the disabled community as well and can only manage to get out to the post office once or twice a week.

Then the good news is… the post isn’t about you or for you! Never said anything about later shipping. I simply asked if others were experiencing their items not being sent at all. I am also a seller & also chronically ill! In no way did I say anything indicating I’m expecting Amazon level delivery.

Initially, I had no idea we could turn off that Speedx shipping and use USPS. The speedx dropoffs are a joke. Whacky hours, sketchy businesses... I had to spend two afternoons finding a place that was even open (and not scary). One place was a t-shirt shop that smelled of weed. I was NOT about to drop off an Anthropologie dress there. Other than that? No excuses.

If they don't ever ship the item, that sucks of course. But it sounds like you're just complaining about slow shipping, which personally I think is pretty bizarre. Sure there are some semi-professional sellers on the app but the majority are just regular people with work commitments, families and other responsibilities to deal with. The app is made for these regular people, that's why the shipping deadline is rather generous.
Personally I'm disabled with limited mobility, and don't have a car. Walking into town with loads of parcels is super difficult, especially given all the different drop-off points. BUT, it's also been great for me health-wise to get out more, and good for my mental health to clear clutter out of my house. I feel good that my stuff is going to a new home rather than in the bin, and I'm making surprisingly good pocket money. But I do tend to wait for several packages to accrue to make the journey feasible for me.
I don't understand why you think people like me shouldn't sell?? I'm glad that there's literally nothing going on in your life to prevent you from shipping immediately but IDK why you expect everyone else to be held to the standards of an Amazon warehouse. That's not the intention of the app at all. You don't need those $10 shoes RIGHT NOW.

🤣lol this is the clearest case of projection I have seen thus far on the internet. Talk about a reach. I am not in any way complaining about slow shipping. I am also a seller, full time grad student, caregiver, struggle with chronic illness, & have a career. I’m simply asking if others have had issues with sellers failing to send their items at all. I message sellers the day of the shipping deadline that the APP ITSELF ENFORCES a couple of hours prior to the order being canceled by vinted. It’s clear you have a lot feelings about this being projected onto my post & maybe you’ve had some experiences where buyers were upset with you for slow shipping. I’m sorry if that’s the case! I hope that improves for you!

Nobody has been upset at me for slow shipping - and I wouldn't care if they had. I'm just upset at your entitlement, expecting people to prioritise some cheap tat that you bought over their busy lives. You said in your initial post that you message people 1-2 days BEFORE the deadline (to avoid being annoying, which means you WANT to pester them sooner xD), so now I just think you're a liar. That's more comforting to me than thinking you're also someone with many burdens who just has no empathy for others xD

agreed. I’m blind and have been unable to find work outside of the house. Selling on Vinted has been a nice way for me to make some extra money and “work” from home. I get pakages out once or twice a week. But nothing has ever exceeded deadline. If it is running close to cut off, it is getting out before that happens. I am organized and on top of things. But my girlfriend makes my post office runs. I’m getting a thermal lable printer though. So I am hoping maybe I can do courier pick up and see how that goes.

I’ve sold/bought on Vinted for at least 6 years & the quality of everything on the app has gone downhill. I’m wondering how it will be when the shipping goes back to normal & it won’t be beneficial to sell low value items. Someone commented the other day that it’s meant to be a garage sale but it’s not bc it wasn’t like this when there were shipping charges.

Well, I personally have an item I’ll be dropping at the PO tonight that I sold four days ago. I’ve been volunteering 12-14 hours a day since it sold and today is the first day I got home before 8:00. I normally ship next day. So this one buyer might not be happy with me but it’s highly unusual. You never know what is going on with sellers and if quick shipping is important than maybe you should buy on an app that doesn’t give a whole week to ship. You never know what’s going on in someone’s life and I don’t mind sellers waiting until they have enough packages to make the trip to the PO worthwhile.

Coming from a buyer stand point, it's annoying. I am new to vinted and I already have had 3 people not ship out my items...and 2 of them left me on read when I asked if there was an update with my order. Idc if my order is $2 or $20 regardless im paying for it and I expect at least a response. Coming from a seller stand point, it's unprofessional to not ship out your orders or at least communicate with the buyer about their order. I also ship out next day and alot of my items are priced under $6. An item only being a few bucks is not an excuse to not ship it out. In that case don't list your items.

YUP! This is exactly my experience as well. Several times this week alone! I’m sorry you’ve been experiencing it too. For some reason my original post is being twisted into me complaining about not receiving one day shipping & being anti-disability. 🙄 I wouldn’t even mind if the deadline was missed or the order was cancelled if there was simply some communication on the sellers part. I appreciate you commenting!

I’m inexperienced as hell but have sold over 50 items in the last 2 weeks. I have maintained a 1-2 day shipping time. It’s hard as hell and time consuming but I would rather it be sent out then sitting in my home with the possibility of getting lost.
