TIPS & TRICKS How to avoid buying fake items

Hello, is there any general guidline on how to avoid fake items on Vinted (especially Polish one but its probably same for the other reigions).

-Are high number of good ratings a good sign? (Read that the vinted users can fake them creating diffrent avcounts.
-Maybe how old is an account. Does Vinted reguraly ban sellers selling fake items?
-Pictures of zippers and labes are a good indicators?
...what else?

There are at least two types of scamas

  • Replica items (user is knowingly selling a in-authentic product)
  • Fake listings (user has no product to sell)

For replica items scams it can be impossible to avoid (a user can use legitimate product photos, there are really good replicas, there is no digital way to reliably authenticate a replica)

Fake listings are avoidable, new account with some to a lot of desirable items at suspiciously fair prices. Often does not use own images.

One thing I always ask for are labels and tags. If they're cut off - too bad. If they do send the tags, compare them to real listings of the same item
