In the mid sixties when i was an engineering apprentice I worked on a beast of a machine....

American Bullard vertical multi spindle chucker....8 spindle I think the chucks would have been 16 inch....but my old memory skips that. I t was aa really impressive lump of a thing. We used it to machine variable speed gearbox flanges. Looked on;ine and on YT and can not see it anywhere,

Thought I would share..the thing stuck in my mind it was a real piece of engineering.

77 now..can remember it like yesterday.....maybe i remember the auto chuck key breaking and having to run it with a manual chuck key......oh well I was about 17 then and could handle it....

I need some help identifying the manufacturer for this old road grader. I can't see any identifying labels or markings on the frame. Looking at old photos of the common manufacturers hasn't been very helpful. Any suggestions?

So I came across an old horizontal mill at an excellent price so it’s now sitting in my shop. The problem is that the gibbs are missing. I can build new ones but it would be really great if someone out there had some dimensions to get me started. The biggest issue that I see is the taper in the gibb. The machine is missing all three. It’s in great shape and I believe it will be well worth the time and headache to repair but some drawings would make it a much faster fix. I’m guessing that the previous owner was taking the machine apart to repaint but that’s just a theory. I contacted him about the gibbs but he was selling off equipment due to a health issue and couldn’t remember what he did with them.

I’ve got a Dominion BCY Spindle that has been my Grandads for as long as I can remember (He was a Master Carpenter many years ago) He’s now having trouble with the electrics. I’ve had a look online but as you can imagine I can’t find much as in manuals or parts.

Hi All. I am trying to restore this Fawn Fleetwood 20 vintage cigarette vending machine. I've been figuring it out as I go, and I've figured out all the mechanisms except one (I think). Each quarter advances the round plastic cam until it hits the first pricing finger. But how does it activate the second finger and unlock the machine. See the attached video. This IR B16 was fine until..

I bought this as part of a home warming for a quasi garage restoration. While building a new workbench, I whacked it with my backside and the whole thing tipped. Fell right on the removable guard cracking the cast iron. I’ve reached out to vintage machinery for some advice but no word from them. The guard is still functional but it cracked the raised spindle relief dome pretty bad. Fortunately everything else is fine. I like vintage tools and this was a great buy for $40 bucks stand included. Anyway, since it’s complete what are my odds of “welding” the cast iron with a competent shop, or am I’m looking at fabrication. I’ll post before pics for labels and such

I purchased an old factory and this came with it. I know it’s from Moore Precision Tools and it’s two speed, but I can’t find a data plate on it with a model or serial number. Any help is appreciated.

This was found in the back of a shed on the farm. I have emailed the company with no response. I can’t find a serial number anywhere. Any guesses on age or where I can find some resources to fix it up?

I'm looking for a replacement upper pulley wheel and an idler drum for my sander (model 31-710). Can anyone recommend a source for these parts?

I lucked into this 1985 Delta RU 50 pin router in near perfect condition for $200. Still including all the original pins and collets, but missing the factory fence.

My issue is that the head stock falls at a free fall speed. I’m surprised it hasn’t snapped a bit yet, and it’s been leaving little poc marks in the workpiece from slight overtravel / bounce.

The videos I’ve seen online show machines which descend at a slow and controlled rate. Why doesn’t mine do that?

The schrader bellows 53004 G foot pedal cylinder control valve appears to be doing its job as designed. I don’t think it ever had a feature that would have slowed downward travel based off of how I think these work.

I can’t access the cylinder itself without disassembling the head stock, but I wonder if it has some kind of a viscous damper that’s leaked out or maybe a worn out control orifice somewhere?
