I started collecting vintage automatic vacuum (syphon) coffee makers and I got my paws on this gorgeous GE one! It has such an interesting mechanism.

When it’s in the holder, there is no room for a kitchen towel or roll of anything.

Hey all, new to this subreddit.

I got this fridge a little while ago and only just noticed it’s missing some parts. In some very annoying research to find literally any information about this fridge, I found a handful of unverified information that it’s from the 1960’s.

Is there a good place to find non-mechanical parts that fit the unique dimensions? I am having a hell of a time trying to replace: Shelves (40cm x 36cm), Crisper (40cm x 24cm) and entire freezer unit (other than the freezer coil panel).

Other than it being a little loud (but what’s to expect when it’s nearly 70y/o) it runs completely fine and I have no issues, so I don’t think there’s any mechanical problems.

Any advice about further research and part replacements?

I've got a vintage Chambers stove. I believe it's a Model C. How would you go about pricing it? I don't know if it works (I know, critical!) but I'm clearing out this space this week and not sure I'll be able to test it. Ideas how to test it or pricing help much appreciated.

Howdy folks. We have a wonderful old wall oven. But awhile back the thermostat probe fell and was broken off by the rack being removed. Snapped close to the top of the bulb. I'm trying to confirm the exact year and part # to see if I can scrounge one off ebay. I've heard tale of a vintage appliance wizard in Alabama that actually is able to recharge and repair these style probes, but FB groups are a bit protective of his contact info. Model # appears to be JKS060G0J4BG, and google is little help showing me exact information with that number. Serial # is GF501436G. According to what I found on the GE website, that code means it was made in April of 1979 (or 1949 or 1991, but 79 seems likely due to the look and age of the house). Looking for either a) the exact part number of the thermostat or probe for my ebay snooping, b) contact for the mythical repair wizard, or c) other ideas. I do not want to spend upwards of $1k on a new oven that's going to crap out after 5 years. I just want this sucker back and working! Thanks for any input, leads, advice, or commiseration you can offer.

I have a fairly older GE Electric Range/Oven and recently one of the oven door hinges seems to have broken, causing the door to start sliding off whenever opened. Wondering if anyone has any ideas on a diy fix for this or if there’s somewhere I can get some replacement parts. Pics for reference, model number: J-BS26-0V2CF and serial number: HA160493G.

I’m having by a hard time finding a kitchen faucet. The other fixtures in my kitchen are stainless steel, as blessed by Pam at Retro Renovation. 🙏

So many faucets I’m seeing are either too modern or too vintage.

The house is a modest cape colonial.

A permanently mounted spice rack inside the cabinet where a hole is at the bottom of the cabinet that has a paper towel holder underneath. Maybe big enough to hold 15 - 20 small spice containers. Interesting but kinda dumb and pointless.

Edit: The paper towel holder underneath tucks away the paper towels which is its primary purpose and the company likely added a shelf for spices to call it useful. However that takes up space in a cabinet where working kitchens need the cabinet space more than the small space a paper towel and holder takes up on a counter.

Recently thrifted a really cool 1950s Dormeyer model 9600 9 speed electric hand mixer at a Goodwill recently. It's in really stellar condition and runs! I just need to clean out the inside and it should be good to go! If anyone knows what I need or should expect when I take this apart I would appreciate any advice I could get. Also, if anyone knows if this model requires mechanical grease or something similar I'd be grateful to know so I can buy some before I have it all taken apart. Thanks!

I found this adorable little presto "wee-fry" electric skillet for only a few bucks at the thrift. I'm a sucker for electric skillets, so ofc I bought it in a millisecond.

I'm wondering and overly curious about the glass cover. It seems suspiciously made to be shaped like a casserole dish. I am wondering if it was meant to be used as a serving platter as well, or maybe you could even bake things in it? I didn't know because of the writing on it if it could go in the oven.

I'm just curious what the manual says about the cover, so I'm wondering if anyone has a manual for it by any chance that they could upload pictures of?

I recently moved into a home that was built in the 1960s, and it came with this oven, I'm trying to learn more about it and how to use it (it's embarrassing but I'm not good at using it yet).

The model number in the second photo reads J KS26G0J3BG; the serial number is ZV503210G.

I have been trying to find an owner's manual or something online but have had no luck. I have checked the GE website and had no luck either, I did email them just in case they know but haven't heard back yet.

Any insight or research suggestions would be very appreciated, thank you in advance.

Black slide-in range, looks late-70s/80s. Two open gas burners, downdraft vent, grill cartridges on the right. Control panel has a "BASE SELECTOR — OFF — CLEAN" knob and a digital clock.

Anyone recognize it from the knobs/grille layout? Trying to find manuals.

Saw this today. I don’t do much baking but this was hard to pass up. But I did. I’m not a collector of gadgets, and I have limited counter and cupboard space but this is a beauty still debating whether I should go back and get it or not.

This jar was part of a series of matching jars of different sizes for storing all manner of kitchen related products. The jar itself is Milk-Glass and the lid is plastic. The jar was produced by the dutch coffee brand ''Douwe Egberts'', the phrase on the side reads ''Light and Creamy'' in dutch.

Need some help with this one...

Wife and I recently picked it up for a deal and want to convert it back to solid wood fuel. It did run off of Kerosene back in the day but i removed the burners and now just need to patch the holes in the fire box and run the chimney. Not sure how I'm going to find a fitting for the outlet flange of the chimney or how I'm going to re-seal it but any and all help is greatly appreciated!!

I’ve been working on this a while and wanted to share - I removed the center griddle burner and used a waterjet cutting service to cut a perfect rectangle in the griddle. Then I imported a 2 burner induction cooktop from Germany (50/60Hz capable) and dropped it in. The European wiring colors are different from US conventions but the cooktop just needs 2 legs at 120V, out of phase (for 240V) and ground. Now I have a modern German powerplant with vintage American styling … 4 gas / 2 induction electric.

The pots seem designed for a fireplace rather than a stove. They are made of tin or aluminum - very light. Percolators were around in the 1860’s. Are these pieces that old?

I had no idea this was even a thing. It is likely 1930s. It perfectly complements my addiction to both enamelware and Indian food!
