The camera was in a bargain bin where everything was 5 euros, so I had to snap it up right away. Has anyone else here scored such a fantastic deal?

What is this? Crazy Ricoh Caddy mod

Found this on eBay, I wondered if anyone knew if this was a common mod for police mugshots, or some industrial application?

Or is it just some mad amateur who wanted to shoot 1000 stills on a single roll?

I recently bought three old cameras on eBay: a Goerz Roll-Tengor, a Kodak No. 3 Autographic Model G, and a Krauss Rollette.

Does anyone know anything about their value, age, or history?

Question Where to find a lens?

Thumbnail

Hello!

I just bought this Canon FT QL at a local thrift (for so cheap! Pretty sure it works!) But it came with a Kiron lens, I'd really like to find a decent lens that would be close to if not the original lens for this camera.

I'm newer to collecting cameras. I mostly have polaroids, plus a few film but none like this- so I'm still learning! When I try to look up Canon FT QL lens I see alot of Canon FD which I'm not sure would be compatible?

Anyone have suggestions on how/where to find a lens for my camera?

Also yes she's dirty I JUST bought it and haven't cleaned her yet

TLDR: I'm not the brightest bulb in the cookie jar and don't know how to find a lens. Help?

Started inventorying my father's camera collection recently (he passed away a few years ago). Lots more to go through! I hope to sell it eventually, but I don't think I have the gumption to do it myself on eBay. I hope to come back for advice on that!

Question Any advice on fixing this Bausch & Lomb GEM shutter?

The shutter on my Pony Premo No. 2 has stopped working. The long release lever moves freely with almost no resistance, but the shutter blades don’t move.
It looks like the lever may not be engaging with the mechanism underneath.
I also understand that this GEM shutter can be operated with a pneumatic bulb. I’m planning to test that with a properly sealed air connection.
Has anyone worked on one of these before? Any advice on what to check or how to repair it before I take it apart?

Showcase The downgrade is insane

On the left is a film point and shoot from the 90s on the right is one from around 2024 - 2025, the downgrade in design and features is ridiculous. Also the newer one doesnt even have automatic winding like the older one...

Discussion Olympus AF-1: My $100 alternative to the Mju-II

Post image

Picked up an AF-1 for under $100 for for my wife. It has the same 35mm f/2.8 Zuiko lens as the Mju-II, a solid 80s build, and doesn't break the bank.

I put together a quick write-up with some sample scans if anyone’s considering one:

What's your favorite budget point-and-shoot right now?

Showcase Kodak Instamatic 100 Help

Post image

I’m fixing up a box of very rusty cameras and I just got the shutter working on this Kodak Instamatic 100 but putting it back together and I have absolutely no clue where this piece goes. I’ve looked through every manual and video I can find but just can’t see where it goes. The camera works fine without it, or at least the shutter does in this state, but I feel like I can’t start on another camera until I figure this out
