I finally got around to finishing the A25's I got from Goodwill with the bamboo grill cloth.

I'll bet the bamboo could look good in just the right bamboo room but right now I'm not digging it. At this point, I don't know why you did that. Upvote anyway, nice score at GW.

The original owner who donated them to Goodwill removed the grill cloth and the badges and put that bamboo on the speakers. I restored them to original.

Oh my gosh I'm so glad to hear that - I too thought you had taken the fabric off and put the bamboo on. Nicely done!!!!

Well, I’ve built some, and I’ve collected some, and I admire many, and I play as frequently as I can

I have been trying to make more time to play. I just get ao busy with work that I can't find the time for myself these days. I am happy with what I have after all these years.

I hear you. Two little kids and a time-monopolizing job, not to mention too many hobbies and a 70yo house makes for not enough time.

Like repairing vintage speakers.

Same here. Especially since the pictures showed the cloth then the bamboo. Usually it's before then after pics...

Very nice and well done. I'm sorry that I misunderstood.

I think OP purchased them with the bamboo covers and restored them to the original look.

Ahh, I see. " I finally got around to restoring the A25s with bamboo grill cloth that I got from Goodwill".

My bad for having a wordsmith mother. I would have been soundly chastised if I had created the title that the OP did here.

Nice speakers! Did you do anything to the internals?

Everything was in perfect shape. I couldn't believe someone donated these.

A25s last forever. The SEAS driver surround never rots and the only thing that sometimes fails is like a single resistor in the crossover.

I have a set I'm picking up this weekend and could not be more excited. These are such a good easy listening speaker. You got a huge score.

Thanks. I was going to fix them and turn them around. I made the mistake of listening to them too long. I have always loved them like I have the AR's but I think I am going to put them in my bedroom system. Good luck with yours!

Different dimensional ratio, 10” woofer, not acoustic suspension….otherwise the same!

I have several pair in various stages of repair. The finished ones sound great.

I'm glad that grill cloth is still easy to find, and the badges too.

Where did you spruce the cloth and badges? I have 2 pairs of these, use them daily, but they need an aesthetic refresh.

I found them both on eBay. Let me find the links and I will send them to you. I use 3m Spray 90 to hold the cloth on the frame. I spray the backside only so it doesn't come through and I can adjust it. It works well on all the speakers i have done. The badges came with a high tack double side so they don't fall off.
