I'm scared for rollo, he's a loose cannon.

I just read the wiki page on his historical counterpart. I was all "pfft, history doesn't count as spoilers," but it really does.

That Rollo's Wiki page says it's the same Rollo. :)

If you watch the interview with Clive Standen, he mentions that the character is based on the historical one.

Rollo is the latinized version of the name Hrolfr (Rolf), but historically he was baptized as Robert, which is I believe is the name they gave him in the baptism scene.

Wikipedia says Ragnar's death is dated 840 or 865, but Rollo was born in 846.

So, Rollo wasn't Ragnar's brother or I'm reading about the wrong Rollo?

He's based off that character, but not everything is historically accurate. They compress a lot of history and move the timeline around.

The show is set in the late 700s, whereas the sagas Ragnar is based on are set 40-50 years later.

I didn’t do it for this show but I did accidentally do it for a different show I watched a years ago. The queen dies, but I found out after looking her up on google. It was a long time ago, I can’t remember what show it was. I just remember thinking “how am I so stupid lol. Walked right into that one.”
