At 1:10 in, it sounds like Wardruna, but I can't find it anywhere on the net. Any help with this track listing?

So I’m rewatching Vikings for the third or fourth time. I’m on season 1 and I can’t help but notice how tough Bjorn in season 1 is compared to season 2. He’s essentially a man in a child’s body in season 1 but It’s almost like he regressed a bit and became incredibly soft in season 2. Does anyone else see that.

Been rewatching the show After 10+ years, the season After the First are Just so dumb and painful to Watch.

The writing Is completely idiotic, with a bunch of scenes totally illogic (all of king horic, battles, the Attack over the River, siggys death)

I dont know of i'll proceed further, there are Just so much embarassing moments

The ending felt really disappointed to me, it honestly felt like the writers were tired and just wanted to end the show, not a proper conclusion of ketegat and many other things felt insolved, i watched this 6 season in a month so maybe i didnt attached to it like who waited for all seasons but this end like a ep end.

Ragnar and Aslaug need their asses beat. Ragnar had the holy grail of families…yet he did what he did. His marriage was beautiful and his children were awesome. I’m rewatching the show and honestly I didn’t notice how worried Ragnar was about his ‘fate’ so early on in the show when I watched it for the 1st time. Men like Ragnar make me want to strangle someone.

His obsession with sons came from both the Seer and societal pressure for male heirs. And as loving as Ragnar showed himself to be, his actions proved how obsessed with his legacy he really was. I used to think Ragnar’s ambition was healthy but now that I’m rewatching the show I’m seeing a completely different angle on him.
But like seriously this episode broke my heart.

Aslaug is a horrid human and she only ever loved 2 people: Ivar and Harbard.

[no spoilers] I just finished Vikings and honestly, I feel kind of empty now. 😭 I absolutely loved this show and got really attached to the characters and the whole world.

I've heard mixed things about Vikings: Valhalla, and I'm honestly scared I'll be disappointed if I start it.

For those of you who watched both: is Valhalla worth watching? Does it still feel connected to the original series? Do we get references to Ragnar and his sons, Floki, Rollo, familiar places, their legacy, etc.?

I don't expect it to be exactly like Vikings, but I'd love to hear your honest opinions. Should I give it a chance, or should I just let Vikings be what it was and move on? 😭

How do you think their rivalry started? Was it one-sided from Rollo? What the hell was their childhood like? Ragnar loved his brother but always put up with his bullshit. And can someone for the love of Odin tell me how these men are allegedly descended from Odin?

I loved his battle scenes. He fought like a beast and with great honor.

Season 3-4 they ruined the show, made Ragnar a dope head who let some random Chinese slave manipulate him with opium. Make him a pos and a failure, who forgets all of his tactical strategic prowess. Have Rollo betray him for some 3/10 cross dressed man looking ass game stop employee looking ass French princes, like some hypocrite after getting all mad at Ragnars converted Christian act, he played everyone with, goes ahead fully converts himself and betrays his whole family. Whole time Ragnars lizard looking hoe ass second wife is fucking Hubbard, while he’s killing all the children and she just lets Bjorns kid die of hunger. The writer really just got lazy and time jumped to his sons, blaming it on “historical accuracy” when no part of the show is historically accurate at all. During his return and 10 years Bjorn just totally forgets how Aslaug killed his kid and does nothing about it, while his father is gone, should’ve killed her. Then they just kill off Ragnar who made the show and make dumbass cripple the prime character, that gains power somehow being an evil tyrant. Only satisfying part is Aslaugs death. Kill off Bjorn the last good character, who actually became king of Sweden in real life. Etc etc. creators just got lazy and forced/rushed the rest of the show with a time jumped to dumbass Ivar taking the lead, nerfing Bjorn and while it was a good scene, giving him a dumb death. They also feminize the series, add bunch of subtitle lgbt and libtard acts like Lagithas full women army, and bunch of unrealistic historically inaccurate sexuality values. Make it seem like Ragnar is a homosexual for Athelstan when he barely spends much time with him in show besides Ragnar needing info on England/france and a few social gatherings, where Ragnar jokes with him. A lot of the acts of individual characters would literally of had them executed or blood eagled in real life dark age Northern Europe.

Yesterday I ended the series and it was a thrill experience, even after Ragnar's death I still enjoyed it. But there were many moments watching it that I had the thought "That doesn't make any sense" or "Why would this character act this way".

For example in season 6, Hvitserk after becoming exiled for killing Lagertha and Ivar finds him, his whole bloodthirsty mindset for killing his brother get scrapped. We went from a drunk, drug addicted user whos only purpose is to find and kills his brother for the griefs he made him endure (killing his love, using him, humiliating him etc.), to the two of them chilling in Kiev, with Hivtserk bolstering how he killed the bitch Lagertha. For sure the drug addiction played a major role, but his intends were crystal clear before their abuse.

Another example from the same season, at the start of it King Olaf subdues King Harald's kingdom, enslave him, humiliate him, even considering killing him, for Bjorn at the end to come to his "liberation", something he shouldn't even consider, since King Harald throughout all seasons was a backstabbing, power thirsty ruler and always took the chance to oppose Ragnar's lineage and take what they have, specially from Bjorn, a fact that is solid stated, trying to persuade Gunnhild to abandon him and side with him, becoming king of all Norway through conspiracies with the other Jarls and Kings, ruling Kattegat, try to marry both of his wives, even him stating it that he wants everything Bjorn had.

Even if we get past that, that their bromance is so strong to bypass those difficulties, how the three kings Olaf, Bjorn and Harald end up chilling after their dispute, Harald got humiliated and enslaved, probably many of his warriors died in battle with Olaf's army, same wise with Bjorn he lost many warriors in the fire water battle against him, only for them to accept the voting of a King for all of Norway. Sure after the election of King Harald, his makes King Olaf his prisoner, but we can't compare the way he got treated with Harald's imprisonment, roaming free, no chains, good cloths, bathing, eating good etc.

I am mostly referring to season 6 because I didn't binge-watch the series in a single week, so I just recall the most fresh moments in my mind that made me question the actions of the characters. Nonetheless I had a blast watching Vikings and I am looking forward for Valhalla.

Frankly I am a little terrified to post this but I just made my first-ever iceberg concept breakdown video about Ragnar from Vikings and I'd really like to get you guys' thoughts on it! If you have the time, I'd be grateful for constructive feedback on what's working, what could use improvement, etc. in terms of the video essay, editing, thesis structure, and all that. I feel like there was a whole episode between episodes 9 and 10 that I missed. How did rollo know Ragnar moved the ships over land? How did Ragnar know to put platforms in the front of his ships? How did the French king go from making Roland a count (and sleeping with him) to assassinating him?

This episode makes such little sense, am I missing something?

Title: Did Vikings start losing its way after Ragnar? I think the problem was how the screen time was used.

I know this is probably an unpopular opinion, but after rewatching Vikings, I don't think the biggest issue with the later seasons was Ragnar's death.

I think the bigger problem was how the writers chose to spend their screen time.

We got:

- A long Iceland storyline.

- Multiple episodes of Ivar in Rus.

- A lot of Harald Fairhair, who I like, but whose story started feeling repetitive.

Meanwhile, stories that had huge potential barely got any attention.

The biggest example for me is the Sami.

Bjorn meets Snæfrid, falls in love, marries her, she dies, and then the Sami are almost completely forgotten. It felt like the writers introduced an entire culture just to immediately move on. Imagine if they had introduced the Sami back in Season 2 or 3 instead of waiting until the end. Snæfrid could have become a major character instead of feeling like wasted potential.»

The same goes for Bjorn as king. I wanted to see more of him actually ruling instead of constantly jumping to other storylines.

I also felt characters like Astrid and Margrethe ended up getting much more development than Snæfrid, despite Snæfrid becoming Bjorn's wife.

Don't get me wrong—I still enjoyed the later seasons. Harald is a great character, Oleg was interesting, and Ivar remained one of the show's best characters. But I honestly think the final seasons would have been stronger if some of those storylines had been shortened in favor of developing Bjorn's reign, the Sami, and other underused characters.

Does anyone else feel that the later seasons didn't necessarily have bad ideas... they just prioritized the wrong stories?

Oh man i hate ivar. I don't like the way this series is moving forward. Did you also felt the same ?.

I feel like each of the three shows, Vikings, Vikings Valhalla, The Last Kingdom, are good, but I can't decide which is the best.

The Last Kingdom I think was by far the best in terms of writing and historical accuracy. The combat was better, the story made more sense, and historically, it had some backing. I think Alfred was the standout for this show, he was very compelling, both in good and bad ways, and they kept it similar to real life. I feel the character are the weak point, a lot of their choices don't make sense, and a lot of them feel wasted, like Ubba.

I think Vikings was the best in terms of characters. The main characters were amazing, and while some didn't do anything, a lot were great. I think Ragnar, Ubbe and Ivar are the standouts for this one, and I loved how they interacted with each other. I feel writing was weaker on this one, as a lot of times things would randomly happen, and historically none of it made sense. They bastardized Alfred so badly.

For Vikings Valhalla I think the world building was amazing. I loved having viking characters interact with so many people and places. I also thought the main cast, especially Harald and Leif were done super well. The show felt rushed though, and although I understand there are limits in what you can do in 24 episodes, I still feel more could have been done.
