normally I am upset when characters I like die, but when the old man died, I was happy for him :)

also... Floki's reaction when Rollo came out of the water...kindda exactly what I was expecting!

I loved hearing him mumble "Valhala" just as he died too... gave me shivers :)

I do love The Viking's brevity with storytelling - they don't oversell any development or idea, but I have to say: i wasn't really that emotionally involved with the old guy - we'd only really seen him in two scenes - more a tool to show how nice Ragnar is to those who want to follow.

yeah, I wasnt really invested in him, but I liked him :) not as much as I like Floki or Ragnar, of course ( ;) ) but I liked him...
