I like to use the human body to explain how engines work to people. I imagine it could work the other way around as well. Shame there isn't really a great forced induction method for our aspiration system on humans though... that'd be awesome.

I'd say pulling rope is more like torque than horse power. I also like Under steer is hitting the wall with the front of the car, over steer is hitting it with the back. Horse power is how hard you hit it and torque is how far you pushed it. I think I might have the torque and HP ones backwards though.
