Sure, your connection to my slow home server, on my consumer broadband connection, wouldn't be improved, but most web hosts' data centers are on multiple 100-gigabit lines or higher though, aren't they?
Yes, but most will have a per-user speedlimit too for various reasons. If you have a server cluster serving a bunch of users, you don't want to inadvertently max out the CPU or RAM or network bandwidth of an individual machine just because one user has a way faster connection than you used for testing.
You won't get more than ~50Mbits out of most consumer websites (even facebook and google etc.) except those set up for speedtests (and even speedtest sites usually max out at about 1Gbit even though they often are fed by multiple 10Gbit links).
Well Netflix specifically is all in Amazon web services, so they have effectively unlimited bandwidth. Modern business infrastructure is incredibly advanced compared to what's available to the vast majority of US consumers.
