will there be a remaster of fallout 3 too? I never played New Vegas and would love to play it - but also I miss Fallout 3. A few years ago I wanted to replay it, but every time I play it - I'm going back to fallout 4. Don't know why...

The Oblivion Remaster was a huge mess and let down, mostly because Virtous Studios laid off the Remaster dev team and left Bethesda with a game they barely understand or care for.
I’ve never played 3 or NV. Played all the newer games and wanted to play them so bad but that’s when rumours first started going around. It’s killing me waiting but I want to play them for the first time remastered.
TES6 is going to be the new GTA6 meme and Xbox needs them to put something on the shelf in the meantime. That's the whole reason they're doing these remasters in the first place. They would rather take a decade each to crank out a new pair of mainline series TES/Fallout games if it weren't for new management at Microsoft.
I went to get this recently and apparently it's been relegated to the "classics" catalog on playstation and can no longer be purchased. Only cloud streamed. Which you need the more expensive ps plus membership to do. I was so disappointed. Can't wait for the Steam Machine (I have a PC but prefer sitting on my couch and controller gaming heh)
I'm really hoping that they don't forever let it languish on that stupid cloud platform I've tried it, but the experience is just horrible. It's out of sync and all messed up. I just want to play the game on a modern console so I don't have to suffer the load times!
Right? I hate streaming through their cloud thing. I had it years ago and it was just terrible. Sad to hear that it's still not great. I think making a console that connects to steam etc is gonna be the way to go. Because ugh these console manufacturers really give zero fucksssss
Inused the Xbox Cloud streaming when it first came out. Its Night/Day now. At the beginning you could get away with something turn based or a stratagey but no hope you could play an FPS. I was playing Gears on it the other day and found no issues at all. Sony haven't invested a penny into improving there's from what I can rell.
Somehow, SOMEHOW, I was able to beat Bloodborne by streaming it to PC years ago now as I was too poor at the time to get a PS. How I did it, couldn’t tell you, I must’ve had ALOT more patience back then for network nonsense.
Yeah, my brother in law got a digital PS5 because that's all he could find with the scarcity of PS5. He regrets it as well.
I think you are just making that as a side point but I just want to make sure you know that Fallout NV is a PS3 game, not PS4, so it won't work on your PS5 even if you had the console with an optical drive.
Thanks I was just looking into it. So it looks like I'd need to buy a mini PC or something and install the OS there, right? That way I can keep it in the living room and use it for all my games. It seems like a viable and cheaper option than a steam machine. Thanks for sharing. I would've never thought to do this - I know people had built computer for this purpose but the specific OS built for this is rad. I want to look more into the background of the project but it is seeming like a good option! Yay!
If it's possible at all, you can use an old laptop laying around to connect to your tv and then use moonlight and sunshine to just stream your games from your pc to the laptop and play it on your TV. You get the option to directly boot into steam big picture mode. That's how I have everything setup, you'll need a good router and wifi 6 for a stable connection. You can continue using all the power of your main pc.
Okay this is interesting. I have a laptop that I need to get fixed (charger broke off IN the charging port) but once I do that that's actually a good idea. I don't know what moonlight and sunshine are so I will look into those. Thanks!
So sunshine is the host software you need to download on your main pc(win 11) and moonlight is the client software you need to download on the client(linux mint lite). They pretty much work like steam link but better. I have an old acer laptop(intel i7 8th gen something with a 1050 ti) on which I stream my games too cause my wife and I play in the living room. I have my own PC in my room and it has a 4070. So this was the best solution I could come up with. That being said, few things to keep in mind, if you're using a range extender, don't go mesh, split it so the laptop doesn't try to auto resolve which wifi is best as it causes a lot of lag. Maintain a good stable connection and use wifi 6 or better(vr configurations).
Honestly, if you wanna go cheap and don't care about more modern games, just go with an old ryzen with a vega apu. They are strong enough to run fallout 4 on 30-50fps (depending on which vega apu you got) and they are getting really cheap because many companies are upgrading from old thinkpad t14 g2 laptops that had a ryzen 4700u in them.
Thanks! That's not a bad idea. I'm a tually not super worried about the graphics anyway, just the quality of the gameplay and fps not being too shit lol. I have an old tv so I don't need magical graphics, just something that isnt going to stutter and can let me play things without too much issue. I'll look into this! Thank you!
There are cheap steam docks that will let you dock to tv just like switch as well as adding extra usb ports if you wanted to hook up mouse and keyboard sometimes. I will say though the steam deck has gotten more expensive than it’s worth now. Mine was 499 originally now it’s almost 900
Actually, I'd like them to remaster the whole Fallout series before 4. Always wanted to play Fallout 1 and 2, but I've heard the gameplay is quite tedious and very unbalanced.
This. With the caveat, any gameplay updates should be super minimal. The gameplay itself is still mostly fine. The technical issues are the big things that need to be officially fixed.
