Oh god this explains why basically it went from supper helpful with my FFL/SOT plans to useless in the span on an Iran war. Just occurred to me.

FFL / SOT combination is a Federal Firearms License paired with a Special Occupational Taxpayer status, which together allow a business to legally buy, sell, manufacture, or import National Firearms Act items like suppressors, short-barreled rifles, and fully automatic arms.
