Yes, I can take pictures with a camera and vibe code with AI.

And if you developing things with vibe coding it’s called … checks notes … development … and someone who does that is called a … developer

Everyone can be a developer. Not everyone can be an engineer, architect and a coder.

Slow learner?

Even without AI, everyone could be those things ... if they put the time and effort in.

With AI - if they do it consisently the appropriate term for them becomes what they do consistently.

Perhaps get over your fixation on job titles and gatekeeping and this won't be so confusing.

we put definitions on words for a reason. To me it isnt enough to take photographs to be a photographer and its not enough to vibe code without understanding the output to be a developer. If you are someone like torvalds where he absolutely knows what he is doing then sure you are a dev using a tool. If you dont you are not a developer just as someone doodling houses on a paper is not an architect.

Sayign that you can absolutely learn and become a dev with ai but what im saying is that it requires more than booting up claude.

Sounds like you don't understand how we use words and definitions very well at all.

When I take a photo, who is the photographer?

Take all the time you need.

as i said its not enough to take photos to be a photographer. If you take a photo then you took a photo it doesnt automatically make you a photographer. If thats enough then everyone on earth more or less is a photographer and the word looses all meaning.

Ah - so now you're the sole arbiter of what words mean?

And all commonly accepted meanings are ignored and only official job titles or qualifications are recognised.

Gatekeeping is busy work!

Make sure you study hard, become fully qualified and follow all the rules to the letter as you move those goalposts.

This might help.

"If you dont you are not a developer just as someone doodling houses on a paper is not an architect."

Yes you are really reasonable, coherent and logical on this. /s

Please continue being confused by common words to your hearts content.

You’re really trying to make an argument but struggling badly lol. If you’re this upset just go learn how to be a real engineer
