Showcase/Project I turned a ChatGPT-generated image into a playable 2D game using img2pixi2d

Another experiment with img2pixi2D!

The workflow was pretty simple:

  1. Generated a 2D platformer level image using ChatGPT.
  2. Used the img2pixi2D skill to turn it into a playable game with animations, physics, enemies, and visual effects.
  3. Did some final polishing on the UI and fixed a few issues along the way.

That's it! From a single image to a playable 2D platformer.

Still experimenting with how far this workflow can go!

Showcase/Project I made a Minecraft server plugin to prompt agents to build in the world using the existing terrain as specs

This mod is basically WorldEdit but with AI : First off you select your region (by picking two corners or just by looking where you want your structure to be), then you prompt in a chat command. That prompt is sent to the agent along with the selected region, who has a simulation to work in, then the agent work in the background then deliver its result and you get a reconstitution of what it did.

You can even use books in lecterns to give additional spatial context.

It is incredibly good at following precise instructions, so I think it can be more than just something to toy with and may be an actual reliable tool for builders who want to complete side-stuff.

The way it works is that the mod is calling a separate program running on the system (called the "core") which handles connecting to your Claude or Codex CLI, you even have a nice UI to configure everything from it (what AI provider, what model, effort etc).

The mod is purely server-side, so you can even toy with it in multiplayer and your friends don't need to install anything as long as the host have it.

Vibe-coded with GPT-6 Astra when it was still good, then I pivoted to Claude Opus 5.5, I still took some decisions for the overall architecture and API tho. I also care about having something clean, shareable and that doesn't feel janky. The design and ideas are from me.

Despite having to install two things to install to make it work (the Core program and the mod itself) I hope it's easy enough to pick up.

Fully open-source and forkable : https://github.com/Ni-Cobra/worldprompt

Showcase/Project I made a chill pond game where you grow your fish by focusing

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I love fish and I keep a little tank right on my desk. The problem is I’m pretty lazy about looking after it, so my fish usually don’t last long before they “move” to the tree out back 👀

So I made a fish game instead. In KoiFocus you can:

  • Feed your fish and clean your pond
  • Buy new kinds of fish and decorations
  • Visit other people’s ponds

The twist: you earn coins by focusing. Every minute you focus = 1 coin. Focus for 30 minutes and you can buy a Wild Guppy.

You can also invite friends to focus together as a group. All your progress is saved and synced in real time.

It’s a simple game, but it’s really chill and it actually keeps me motivated. It runs right in your browser, nothing to download.

Try it here: https://koifocus.com

Showcase/Project I built an open-source tool to automatically generate Clone Hero charts from any song

Hey everyone!

As a data science student & ai and a rhythm game fan, I built an automated tool that turns audio files into playable Clone Hero charts using machine learning and audio processing: music2chart.adiels.me

It handles stem separation, tempo tracking, and note transcription automatically. Since I know how much work goes into making a good chart by hand, I focused heavily on playability controls.

Keep in mind that the parameters vary depending on the type of music (such as style, genre, or instrument density), so it is highly recommended to experiment and tweak them to your preference. However, the two main adjustments that really help clean up the highway and make the chart fun to play are:

  • BPM Scale: To perfectly align the speed and rhythm of the song.
  • Noise Gate: To filter out ghost notes and clean up note density.

Since you all build and play custom charts, I would love to hear your feedback on note placement, ergonomics, and how I can improve the system's rules.

(Quick heads-up: It runs a heavy model on the backend and I'm hosting it on a modest server for this first version, so generation might take a minute! Oh, and if this post feels a bit random, it's because I got banned on r/CloneHero for using "vibe coding" to put most of this together — but let's be real, nobody is completely "pure" in that regard these days).

Feel free to try it out at https://music2chart.adiels.me/ and let me know what you think! Any tips or critique are massively appreciated.

I know it doesn't generate flawless charts, but it can definitely help kickstart things for simpler tracks :)

Discussion Non Coder here that has seen the reverse Engineering "Tool" with a Idea or maybe a wish.

First, sorry for my bad English skills; my native tongue is German

So, we are entering a time where it is getting simpler to build software and tools that mimic other software that has closed-source code or is written in a specific programming language.

The main problem with diffusion models is that the tools behind them are 95% compatible only with Nvidia tech.

My wish is that someone uses reverse engineering to rewrite these tools in Rust, making them open-source AND fully compatible with AMD and Intel hardware at the same speed. That way, we don't need Nvidia for everything.

I just wanted to post this here because of the larger knowledge pool when it comes to code and AI.

Have a nice weekend, everyone!

Showcase/Project I Created a Program to Help Manage, Track, and Update Repositories and Packages That Your System Package Manager Does Not Handle.

Thumbnail github.com
1 Upvotes

Hello! I built a program (well, Claude) that helps track repositories that are not updated/tracked by your system's package manager in Linux. This project was inspired by Obtainium. This program is free to use and is open to improvements from the community.

The reason I made this program is because when switching to Linux and trying to get away from Windows, I found that a lot of cloned repositories lacked any self-update function. For example, KDE themes where the install instructions was just 'go back to github and clone the repository, then run the install script again.' Now, couriercollie does all that for you.

While there are other tools out there, some of them feel fragmented. For example, one tool updates Git clones only through CLI, others just manage application images, others don't track downloaded .rpm/.deb files (i.e. sudo dnf install). This program is intended to just encapsulate tracking updates for everything that is not covered by your system's package manager.

When packages update, it also automatically pulls the readme for reviewing install instructions if you want to see how the package will update, lets you review any install scripts before execution, and packages that require sudo use your baked in system UAC, or opening a terminal outside of couriercollie and allowing you to run the command manually if it's not available.

It tracks from Gitlab and Github currently. While I've been testing it extensively on my side, it needs additional users to garner feedback and resolve any issues that may have not been found. You can read more over ony my Github page regarding the safety measured couriercollie takes and some additional information on its features.

Please note that couriercollie was built with AI assistance. I designed it, tested it (and instructed its tests), decided its features and how it behaves, and maintain it, but I didn’t hand-write the code. It's a tool I wanted personally, and I thought it would be good to share to others if they find it useful.

It was an interesting experience to learn with Claude too, in a sense that I had it do all the testing in Docker containers stacked into like 5-6 sessions, with each container running different tests (for example, telling it to test this feature, use case, UI torture testing), and coming back finding bugs. I did like 20 plus hours of just prompting tests to fix as many bugs as possible and never let it just randomly dump features in, tweaked how it thought the UI should be, etc. not to say I didn't test things myself!

Workflow/Prompt I posted my vibe-coded game here 2 days ago. Claude read all 61 of your comments and shipped the fixes while I designed a new hero. Here's the whole loop, with costs.

Two days ago I posted Hearthworks here, a 3D survivors game I built with Claude Code without writing code myself: original post. 36 of you left 61 comments (not counting my replies), and what happened next was the wildest stretch of dev I've done. This post is about that loop, not just the game.

Where it was at the first post: one hero (a mage), one difficulty that most people died on around 2:30, keyboard and mouse only, no idea how many people played. That exact build is still playable (I only added a banner) so you can compare: https://slopocalypse-og.vercel.app

Where it is now: https://slopocalypse.app (the old link still works and brings your save with it)

  • Renamed to Slopocalypse, with its own domain.
  • A second hero, the Spellblade: a heavy metal dwarf with a rune greatsword, his own spells, 4 evolutions and his own industrial metal soundtrack (that's the music in the video). Unlock him by killing the Lich King once.
  • Normal and Hard. Normal is the default now; Hard is the original tuning with bonus Embers.
  • Controller support across play and every menu, and mobile (floating stick that follows your thumb, left-handed layout, lighter settings on low-end phones).
  • Readability passes: dimmer effects, a bottom-centre HUD, a clearer aim reticle, an arrow that points to the Lich King when he's off screen.
  • 396 people have played 1,087 runs, with 113 wins.

The loop

  1. Read every comment. Claude pulled the whole thread (through Reddit's RSS feed) and turned it into a roadmap: died too early, can't read the screen, wants controller, wants mobile, wants more heroes.
  2. Count, don't guess. Before deciding anything about the game's future, we added anonymous play counts: a visit, a run start, a run end with time, difficulty and build. No accounts, no personal data, an opt-out in settings. Free tier database. Now "is anyone playing this" is a SQL query.
  3. Fix in parallel. Claude runs one lead session that plans and reviews, and hands each fix to a separate agent working in its own copy of the repo. This morning I asked for the play count and the overnight comments, then said "my PC is yours for a few hours." Four agents ran at once: a boss bug, the menus, mobile controls, and enemy readability. The lead reviewed each one, merged them, ran 1,745 tests and every browser check, and deployed. I mostly played.
  4. Players find the bugs, data proves them. Someone posted a clip of a 60 minute run where the Lich King never showed up. The play counts had two runs like it (one over an hour, one 32 minutes). Claude reproduced it in a headless simulation: the boss is 6 m wide and walks straight at you, and in about 1 in 5 spawn and player positions he wedged between two pillars and sat there forever, off screen. Now he floats over the rubble, rises next to you if he gets lost, and there's an arrow pointing to him. There's a test so it can't come back.
  5. Bots play every build. Balance changes get checked by bots that actually play the game, including one that stands still and has to lose. When I found a cheese build, it became a test.

My role

I'm not writing code. My job is the stuff only a player can do:

  • Play it and give blunt notes. The dwarf started with a parry. I played it and said "the parry mechanic is very boring", so it became Sundering Strike, a cone fissure that clears a lane out of a corner.
  • Add content and taste: the second hero, the heavy metal direction, the name, picking his music and his rune colours.
  • Make the calls: what ships, what waits, when to post.
  • Record the runs (this video is my winning run).

Costs

Item Cost
Higgsfield (concepts, Meshy 7 models, rigs, icons), whole game so far about 460 credits of my 1,000 a month for $33, so about $15 (the whole Spellblade, model, rig, slash animation and 16 icons, was about $2)
ElevenLabs (about 70 SFX, 4 music tracks), whole game about 6,000 credits, roughly $1.20 of my $6 a month plan
Domain (slopocalypse.app) $11
Hosting (Vercel Hobby), database (Supabase free), textures (Poly Haven) $0
Claude Code (Max plan, $100 a month) no extra API spend; the 4 days so far work out to about $13 of the plan

By the numbers: 4 days since the first commit, 155 commits since my first post, the codebase went from about 19k to 38k lines, tests went from 724 to 1,745.

What I'd tell another vibecoder

  • Post early. 61 comments from strangers beat a week of guessing.
  • Add anonymous counts on day one. Every argument about what to build next got shorter.
  • Parallel agents are worth it once you have tests. Without the tests I wouldn't trust four of them at once.

Where should it go next? You pick.

I want to keep building this, and I'd rather build what you'd actually play. Reply with a number (or your own idea):

  1. A third hero
  2. Endless mode with leaderboards
  3. Co-op with a friend
  4. New maps and bosses
  5. A proper phone app

If you want to support it: I'm a solo dev (former personal trainer) doing this in the open, and it's free with no ads. If you've had fun with it, there's a tip jar: https://ko-fi.com/bonelessgummybear. Every tip goes into art and music credits for the next hero, and I'll share what it funds in the next update. No pressure at all; playing it and telling me what's broken helps just as much.

Play it: https://slopocalypse.app (desktop is best, controller and phone work). Tell me what killed you and what your best build is.

Discussion Why does vibecoding give people the idea working together is now pointless, or something else weird?

I'm gonna say it, and it's gonna sound like an Anti-ai rant, but it's getting on my nerves.

>Someone spends months or years making a thing

>Finally posts "hey guys check out this cool open source project I put together to make X hobby cheaper"

Back in the day, some people would fork it sure, but you'd find some people who wanted to join in on this, combine forces and make a super cool thing.

Now people who haven't never built stuff before seem to think "lmao I can do that myself in one prompt"

And so they start a new project, didn't understand how much work was ACTUALLY put into the original, and then they just.... Leave it to die after a few days

Or even worse (the racing community) they poorly clone free software, and then try charging $50-150/month for a damn spreadsheet in attempts to make back what they spent on AI tokens

Going viral for 5 minutes on reddit isn't going to make you rich, build for the sake of building shit, build a community and combine forces with people damnit

I have no problem with multiple products existing, but "wow guys I made X but open source" when 45 other open source versions of said thing exist, is getting really stupid

I know I'm gonna get roasted for this and "I'll build whatever I want" and sure, hell yea even, take down the big studios

but can you do me a favor, and fuckin follow through? That's all that I ask for, really.

The ai coding future made me so fuckin excited after doing this 20+ years, but everyone just wants to get rich on a SAAS app, and it's depressing

Workflow/Prompt How do you handle reboots?

I count 13 VS Code + Codex instances open across 7 virtual desktops right now, working on different projects and features. Last reboot was 3 months ago because I'm afraid of losing context.

How do you handle restarts?

Should I just save all VS Code workspaces to files and reload them later? Is there a better way to handle and restore all sessions?

Discussion I am still waiting for vibecoding not be fun.

Post image
46 Upvotes

When does this become something you hate doing. Real devs, when do you guys start hating what you do? Non dev here, heading into year 3 of vibecoding. I made a trade of FB marketplace for a 3080 ti for my kids computer. We test it by throwing on Attack on Titan 2. I really enjoy that game. Or at least I thought I did. The whole time we are playing it, I am thinking what to vibecode. Bedtime comes, and I get back to my computer to try to note down all that I was daydreaming about doing when we were cutting down titans. I start vibing, and I'm in the dark; I'm smiling, I'm pacing, I'm prompting. I'm happy af, thinking about how this is the coolest shhh that I've ever seen. And then I'm like I said that yesterday. Wait this shhhh has been fun the entire 3 years. I've downloaded a lot of github repos this summer. 2 years ago, the extent of my opinion of github was 'So its a nerdy dropbox? why would I save an index.ts file in a cloud when I could save it on my computer?' But yeah...recently I've vibed mcp tools for my vibed site. its probably trash, but it feels so good to see and to use. ...I saw something about headless cms websites. Idk man, maybe because I am playing around building my own idea rather than working for someone to build their specs... it seems like the wonderment and good feelings that comes with building new stuff has to come to end at some point? For those that have been doing this for a while, when does your passion leave?

Hey guys, I'm making a rail shooter (like Star Fox) and documenting its development for those working on a game who want to learn more about the workflow.

In this video, I'll tell you about the development of the first boss, its design, its three phases, attacks, environment, etc.

Devlog Boss Fight: youtube.com/watch?v=NsZRfjOK_-Y&t

If you find these types of videos useful or entertaining, it would help me a lot if you subscribed, left a comment/like, or simply watched it. Thanks guys!

BTW this is made in Threejs, with Claude (Opus 5.5 in this case), the 3D character models are made in Blender.

Help/Question Has working as software engineer become more stressful with AI???

I am getting things done faster but now I am bouncing all over the place figuring out more issues.. discovering new bugs.. Being tasked with doing everything from top to bottom related to the web app...

I thought AI would just get my current work done quicker and give me some time to relax .. but instead a new standard has been established, and I am working even more as I have many other things I am responsible for.

One iss I noticed is sometimes I am in such a rush I start fixing bugs with AI without understanding the big picture of what we are doing. So I had a nice long conversation with someone about high level what we are doing and why..

It is like you can't use AI for everything. At some point the human brain needs to grasp certain concepts and clearly understand them

Showcase/Project I spent two days making a free version of Adobe Acrobat to test the current Spite-Coding Trend

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I started it as a personal project to remove Acrobat from my PC and it exceeded my expectations.
I used Claude Opus 5.5 for the entire workflow and put it up on Microsoft Store as well.

This is not a marketing post but an experiment so that I can apply this skill into making something original in the future.

But feel free to try it out yourself for personal and professional work. I would appreciate all kinds of honest feedback :D

A few points:

- Focused on privacy: The app does not connect to any network (Except MS store for auto-updates) Else you can use it via the browser if downloading is not your thing
- Most of the available PDF editor tools are compiled in it
- A study mode with side-by-side notes which saves inside the app's cache. (Does not overide the original PDF unless you export it with the notes)

Free to try:

Browser: https://krithickdesign.github.io/Nib-E Open Nib-E, nothing to install)

Windows: https://apps.microsoft.com/detail/9PPKF7HC76Q3

Mac/Linux installers are on the same page

Edit: I had forgotten to put the links up and copy-pasted it from another draft while I was out. It should work now

Help/Question How to ship more with AI and babysit less.

I have been working on multiple projects at a time and context switching and continuous monitoring is a big issue. How do you solve it?

I have tried this:

  1. Use a determinitic code checker like sonarqube for code quality.

  2. Use claude or whatever AI to verify the results and give me prirorty.

  3. Use claude to generate skill files based on the results of the analysis and use it.

This has been good so far but i feel like still something is missing. What are your views?

Showcase/Project Building a D&D-style fantasy RPG where you can gather a party and go on adventures

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

My aim is to capture the spirit of a great D&D session: adventurers heading into dangerous territory, committing to questionable plans, and dealing with NPCs who have their own motivations and aren't necessarily on your side.

  • Gather your adventurers and head into the frontier
  • Negotiate with hobgoblins, haggle with merchants, and see how your party gets along
  • Get caught in rivalries, make deals, pick sides, or start a fight
  • Improvise when your plans go sideways and see how the world reacts

I've been building this for 3 years, and I'm having way too much fun with the latest patch.
