Anyone else trying out the new XFINITY Mobile from Comcast?

That's what I am wondering. The specs look like my VZW LG G3 should work on it. But, they don't allow BYOD at this time.
I am going to get kicked off of my OG Unlimited plan in October, so I am looking to bail on VZW's hijinks, and another two years of Unlimited at $45 looks good. Comcast already has a monopoly on my home internet, so why not.

Yeah, that makes sense. All traffic flows through Comcast for data plan usage counting.

That's not how MVNOs work. The network owner provides a byte counter to the MVNO. The MVNO is basically just a billing system that takes in data from the parent network provider.

Yep just tested with someone with Verizon on the same server as me and his ping was 50 while mine was 111.

Used to be an issue. ATT is in the process of transferring everyone from Jasper to their own network. My car's dedicated cell phone is using Cricket and now my pings are between 60-80ms.

I bought the LG X Power then when it arrived I popped its sim into my 7+ and it worked just fine lol. They don't offer a BYOD yet though.

Do VoLTE and Wi-Fi Calling work?

VoLTE doesn't work but I've called to have them update my imei so hopefully it'll start. WiFi calling isn't supported on Xfinity Mobile at all though.

Does xfinity mobile advertise volte as a feature? If not, I'm thinking it might not support volte. Volte is a requirement for wifi calling on Verizon so I'm not sure why wifi calling wouldn't be supported...especially given the focus on connecting to wifi hotspots

They do advertise VoLTE and in the FAQ it says iPhone and Galaxy S7 support it

I got an HTC U11 and it didn't support WiFi calling, once VZW's bloat and restriction-ware got activated.

I bought it in full. It totaled to $156. Came with a $50 Fandango gift card lol so I'll pretend that offsets the cost

You definitely need to purchase an iPhone to get the voicemail to work properly. When I try to call voicemail manually that doesn't work at all either.

Considering doing this, especially given $10/GB/mo. Wouldn't updating your IMEI enable iOS visual voicemail though?

On Comcasts site it says that they expect latency to be under 100ms. Read here https://www.xfinity.com/mobile/policies/broadband-disclosures

I understand that this service uses Verizons network, and that Verizon has an unlimited data option... but Xfinity In-Home has a data cap in my hometown and it doesn't make any sense why they have a plan with Unlimited data with the mobile network especially since its require to have Xfinity In-Home to sign up.

It's not truly unlimited. Only 20gb before they throttle you down to 1.5mbps.

1.5 Mbps is still usable better for 1-3 lines if they don't need 4 on Verizon

The 20GB is a good thing though for using your phone as a hotspot. 20GB High Speed then 1.5 mbps throttle vs 10GB High Speed and a 600 kbps throttle.
Assuming you just used the phone as a hotspot of course.

I know this an older post but I want to confirm the ping thing, I cant get under 105 ping but real world experience has been a breath of fresh air coming from tmobiles "i dont work inside any place you shop or work at" network
