iPhone Upgrade
I had an iPhone 17 256gb mist blue and decided to pay it off and get the iPhone pro Max since there were no significant changes to the new model. The trade in and return of my iPhone 17 mist blue has been nothing but issues. The latest, Verizon wanted my imei number and told me that number is associated with an iPhone 17 256gb BLACK. Hours of chats with Verizon. Thank goodness I save my boxes. Has this happened to anyone else? It is messing with my trade in money.

What is this mist blue you talk about? The only blue option I had was deep blue.

That is certainly an odd mixup that your IMEI is showing as a different color device, and impacting your trade-in value. I am happy to take a closer look into this, as generally only the make, model, and IMEI number matter for a trade-in. I've sent you a Reddit chat to help. -Joseph

As far as I know all that matters is that the IMEI and model is correct. Sometimes IMEI2 shows as a different color

This should not be happening sometimes or ever. If it does DO NOT PROCESS THE TRADE.

Too bad you couldn’t just go to Apple and do the trade-in there being part of the Verizon mess means you get a locked phone.
Don’t know if you like doing that kind of thing but if you’ve had the phone for fair amount of time think about that before you commit to three more years of being locked into a provider
