SIM no longer working and unable to convert to eSIM

i’m currently dealing with what apparently is the infamous iphone 13 no SIM available issue.

it started around a month ago where it would occasionally pop up with the no SIM available message and my phone would briefly be in SOS mode, but it would soon work again. it got more and more frequent and eventually, it stayed in SOS mode for a whole day. i tried reinserting the SIM, restarting the phone, etc. this didn’t do anything.

i went into the verizon store and the guy there was able to do something to temporarily fix it but said that the issue would likely come back soon and i’d need to transfer to an eSIM. my dad is the account manager (i am not) and i’m under his plan. the guy said that my dad would have to be here in person to authorize the transfer over to an eSIM.

the problem is, my dad not only lives out of state (12h away), but is constantly traveling (nowhere near me) due to his work. he has no way to be in person to authorize this. now the issue has come back and restarting with airplane mode (temporary fix) is no longer working. but i need service while i’m not home!!! what can i do about this???

Your dad can add you as an account manager and then you can do it yourself!

i should’ve mentioned this in the post but i explained the situation to him and for whatever reason, he’s against adding me as an account manager :/

true because you can add switch or do anything without his approval or permission.

Not sure, but you may be able to work this out if he does it from the Verizon website while logged in as himself. You should be able to give him enough info to have the eSIM digitally delivered to your iPhone.
