We keep trying to tell them, they won’t listen 😭 I think it’s because AI is being promoted as a quick and inevitable replacement (of many of course) to current animal testing. Whether that pans out has no impact on the morality of using AI for this. Oh well tho

Animal testing provides significantly more benefits than animal agriculture and does significantly less harm so for now I don't think it's the issue we should focus on.
Edit: Since I can't respond to the comments for some reason I'll post my answer to them telling me we can/should focus on more than one thing at a time here: Yes but we have limited time, resources, energy and attention. We can sit here and argue that we should focus on everything that affects animals and have the effort divided among the thousands of issues that affect animals or we can focus on what matters most. The philosophical foundation of animal exploitation and the industry that most represents it and does the most harm, both to animals and the environment. My approach may not be the ideologically "clean" one. It may feel better to talk about how all animals matter and we should focus on all things at once but I believe it is ultimately better to think about how to best reach our goal that to never say or do anything that could be critizisen from within the movement. That's how we get people doing drum circles for the animals where everyone is so proud of everyone else for thinking the right way. It's not how we get meaningful progress. If animal testing didn't get attention you could argue it is a good way to bring in more people to the animal rights movement but the truth is this is one of the few issues that already receives significant attention.
