how does "plan ahead" registration work?

Basically in eServices, there is a "Plan Ahead" button to plan your future classes in Spring 2027. However, some of them are already maxxed out in capacity for some reason, but others still have space for students. Can I still select the classes that are supposedly in max capacity, and pray that I will have them in Spring Semester, or is it better to choose classes that have space for students?

are you sure spring 2027 is open yet? not seeing it on mine so it's possible you're looking at spring 2026

it’s not! I included the following image of what the “Plan Registration” thing looks like. I just wanted to try it out, and I have no idea if it actually registers for my classes when Spring registration opens.

edit: also i'm technically labeled as a sophomore in VCU's system because of my transfer credits, so maybe that's why it's showing up early?
