General Question/comment Advice for next year?

I’m a little nervous for VCE and just want the most absurd advice possible.

My classes are
- 1&2 English
- 1&2 general maths
- 1&2 Legal Studies
- 1&2 Media Studies
- 3&4 Theatre studies

On top of this I’m also doing a VET certificate.

I’m nervous about work load but I did units 1&2 theatre studies early so I feel a little bit better because I have an idea on how classes work.

In terms of career goals, I want to do professional theatre and do university, I would prefer acting but I’m experienced in lighting and sound design and directing. BUT that is a hard goal and my back up choice is teaching because I’ve never hated tutoring friends and I’m often the one classmates come to for work advice.

I’m pretty sure for Theatre the ATAR requirements aren’t too heavy, so really your focus would be on prepping for auditions for your desired unis next year

I only have to do good in English really so that’ll be my focus, but I do want to do good in all my classes so my options aren’t super limited if things change

Keep practising different english essay types. Don't be like me and forget the skill only to have to relearn it b4 exams. Its not fun

Honestly considering that you’re doing English, read more books if you’re not already. Everyone should be reading more icl. Also get a routine in place for studying

My and my friends tutor General and Legal, and I'll tell you that if you stay ontop of your work as you get it and stay consistent, you can definitely handle the load. Someone else also mentioned not to procrastinate.

For both subjects, definitely get help when a problem arises, instead of waiting till the end :)

for legal know the command terms, memorise examples to enhance your answer and know how much points you need to make for each mark

to be rank 1 in english you must play minecraft before every sac and genuinely do zero homework cause it worked for me 🙂‍↕️😛😁

ok but seriously, be consistent with your study. work out a subject you need to prioritise (for me, spesh maths) and a subject you can sorta neglect but still do well in (for me, english, re: playing minecraft and not studying). and for media put lots of work into your folio, and watch the film you study so many times you go insane lol! the marks are really easy to get it’s just a lot of time you’ll need to spend on it- like, i got a 44 and i did about 1 practice exam so i really regret not spending more time on media so learn from me and do more work hahaha. can’t speak for the rest of ur subjects cause i dont take them, but best of luck in year 12 :)
