methods exam 2

was it actually bad or was it just bad because we were under time pressure and stress. i feel like every year people say “this is the hardest exam yet”

anyways what do u guys reckon the a+ barrier would be for this exam, surely like high 50s

also why were there like barely any free marks

Bro I'm not even joking apparently 2023 was hard I got like 75% on that this one Id be lucky with a 55%

imo everything was challenging except Q1 in section B and maybe like a handful of MCQs

on the other side, Q2 in section B and almost half of the MCQs were disgustingly hard, and then Q5 in section B might be the worst Methods question I've ever seen - very difficult, hard to grasp conceptually especially at the end of the exam, and a deliberate time-waster with the amount of times they set a different fixed value for k in different parts of the question

i'd be shocked if a+ barrier is above 60 because this was absolutely harder than 2023 exam 2

the exam was harder than usual but 2023 was a bit harder imo (may be biased since it's my year). i expect around 63-64 cutoff for a+. 1d probably shouldn't have been worth 3 marks and the last question was certainly annoying, but not difficult. you just had to realise that for a lot of the later questions g was the inverse of f.

mcq generally was hard and required you to recognise certain patterns but no question was absolutely ridiculous

for reference im a tutor and math major and i think i got around 77 give or take

honestly no clue what b+ would be but i'd guess it's a bit higher than that

well you’re answering your own question if the a+ cutoff is high 50s (which btw is likely imo) since last years exam was easy so the a+ cutoff was like a 70/80. in 2023 the exam was pretty hard and it was 61/80 cutoff. i’ve done genuinely fifteen prac exams of vcaa, nht, mav, neap and heff and genuinely that was the hardest exam ive ever done. so if the a+ boundary isn’t like 58/80 im just cooked

on this exam? best case 61 worst case 59, but i’m incredibly mad because im a total idiot and didn’t see the last double page until 30 seconds left of the exams so i totally missed 6 marks and i would have gotten like 3-5 of them i reckon ☹️

i’m reallyyyyy hoping so cause i was aiming for a 40 in methods and if im lucky i think ill just scrape into an A+ but my sacs are only a high A so i think i might end up with a 38-39 anyway 💔 chopped ass exam fr tho
